I dont quite get this TBH, im not entirely up to speed on everything (not a brit)

But wont this have rather large negative economic effects? and wont the working class be hit worst by that?

Part of me certainly would see the bright side of my country pulling out of the EU, but holy fk it would devestate the economy for the first decade.
Only time will tell, but in my working World I don't know one person who wanted to remain.

Just think how stupid an average person is. Then think that half of them are even dumber.

That's why we don't have referendums on how to perform brain surgery, I've got no idea why we trust Paddy the benefit claimant who left school at the age of 16 with economy and politics.
I think you are painting with a very broad brush there.

What's to be unhappy about?
Unless your house is about to lose 50% of its value over the weekend. At least the first time buyers will have a chance to get into the market eh?

Young and educated people mostly opted for remaining. Frustrated ex-miner pensioners mostly voted to leave. Contrary to popular saying, people don't get any wiser with age. If anything, they start pooping their pants, losing house keys twice a week and f***g up things for people who will need to live with their decisions once grandpa has died.
That's why we always vote in a 20yr old as a PM.

Even if house prices do drop, surely interest rates/mortgages are going to increase? Let alone tax and NI contributions ...

Point succinctly proven. The very definition of less than average is being in the lower 50% of the sample, in this case intellect.

I know somebody who proudly voted out "cos all these rich people are telling me to vote in". She accepts no responsibility for the fk-up that is her life and blames other people for everything, including 3 failed marriages.

Well, done, you ought to do stand up, you daft truncheon.

Onward and upward, freed from the sinking economy of the EUSSR, we can trade with the world and grow. All on our Little Own.

I'm annoyed at the potential that many people voted Leave for the wrong reasons and not looking at the bigger picture; immigration and "taking back our country" seem to be popular reasons from what I've heard and seen.

I'd recommend changing your circle of acquaintances - they seem to make you angry.

Or is it your ex wife?

Ignoring whether this is a good or a bad move for the UK, there's something to say about a real democracy. I remember in the other thread that we're moving towards a system where eventually everybody could vote for everything.
That will inherently not work. Here's a couple of examples (and I feel sorry I actually have to make these):
  • You can't have fewer taxes everywhere and then still expect cheap public transport or toll-free roads. However, make the people vote and of course they will select fewer taxes (despite knowing that'll bring up some budget deficit and will add a tax that they hope won't affect them but someone else)
  • Minorities will always fail. "hey should we cut down on this benefit for disabled people?" how would that go down?
  • There are other minorities> "Should we tax self-employed people more?" Of course! The baker on the corner just bought a new XF and my contractor has an E-class, they make way too much money, why should I care they work 80h/week?
There's a reason we vote people in and then let them do their thing. You can't do good for everyone and you have to look at the bigger picture and most people are incapable of that. The vote held yesterday is like having the entire work force having a vote whether the company should go public or stay private, times 1000.

People vote for the things that matter to them. Immigration worries a lot of people - liberals have ignored their concerns for too long.

Yet the only people I knew who wanted to leave were 2 part time Drug Dealers, because of the immigrants ... Anyone with any education or involved with a business that isn't limited to the UK wanted out. Read from that what you will.

So ? - why shouldn't that be acceptable if it's what they genuinely think [hint - it is a democracy......]. They were hardly going to listen to economists and politicians for whom they have little respect.

Lots of angry people outside Mr Johnson's house today, I think the BBC decided not to broadcast not quite live such was the level of obscenities shouted when they were reporting.
