Sorry, did I miss the bit where she set out her vision for Brexit?

I thought she simply defined it with a meaningless tautology. Like saying 'eggs is eggs'. It's not wrong, but you wouldn't want someone to write a dictionary with that approach.

You certainly seem to have missed the bit about the fact that we're coming out.

May didn't set out a vision for leaving the EU, but David Davis will.

There was no ambiguity in her speech, quite definitely an assurance of her intentions to follow through. Will be interesting to see who becomes the Brexit Minister, apparently she has already told Civil servants to find suitable offices for that department.
David Davis - a good call by the PM, offering clarity.

Except it won't be up to him. He will have to persuade the government and other MPs

The possibility of someone marching over to Brussels and telling them to 'just do one' has passed. Whatever Brexit turns out to be it will not be 'full fat'.

As long as no-one screws our economy I will be fine.

So you will be happy as long as everybody does exactly what suits you personally ? - ah, I get it. That must be why I've misunderstood democracy all my life.

I am fairly sure that is not what I said.

Do you not want Govt to do what is best for the economy then?

The government doesn't know what's best for the economy on all timescales (nobody does) and in asking the question you must realise that the government is going to take other considerations into account, in particular by looking beyond any actual short-term economics or indeed speculation about the next short-term situation.

Government has a duty to protect the financial stability of our country.

There is a danger that MP's and even Prime Ministers acting individually may not do so. Where MPs are collectively accountable for decisions the risk is reduced.

in the period leading up to the vote no-one was considering the best way to protect our economy during Brexit. That placed us in a hugely vulnerable position immediately after the vote.

I don't think we are in that place anymore as it is highly likely that our Brexit strategy will be prepared based on economic analysis rather than hubris and dogma and that it will be tested in open debate by our elected MPs before we commit to an irrevocable course of action,

Totally agree. It will all be alright in 100 years-England will be a great nation again. Or something like that.

After a rapid squint that's not amazing crystal balling it's more like so-so sarcasm, cool. However there are three points to raise aside from that area of weakness...the first is that the UK is Brexiting not just England, the second is that the UK is already a great nation, and the third is that in 100 years the icy cryogenic capsules with Remainers waiting to be thawed out when their doom-laden predictions come true will still, more than likely, be frozen out of reality much as they are right now.

On a similar enough topic to this thread to justify me shoe-horning it in:

The National Labour Party exec committee have decided they don't like the result of the Brighton and Hove local branch members, and have annulled it.
