Is Boris sh*tting himself?

He won't get the crown but he may well take some votes from May and help Boris. Chancellor if Boris wins? Osborne did well before being part of the Pinocchio Effect and has lost out by backing the wrong horse.
You think? I'd expect Gove to take more votes from Johnson than from May.Edited to add, we'll never know now.

But I have come, reluctantly, to the conclusion that Boris cannot provide the leadership or build the team for the task ahead.
He is most certainly not tag teaming with Boris. So, a flawed analysis and the playful edit was unnecessary.

Bit disappointed to be honest. I think he could have done quite well if he'd been elected. Gove won't win a general election.
Not sure May will either, depending on who succeeds Corbyn if he is eventually prised out.Thank the Good Lord for more even-handed electoral boundaries.

Ahem. Boris has just pulled out.
Indeed.What a bloody coward!
He was counting on nobody having to do it, discrediting Cameron for risking the future to appease the UKIPpers, and then he could swoop in as the saviour of the party.
Now he's working on his plan to be the PM who "rebuilds" the country after exit.

Huh?
Is it just manufacturers that you suggest we put a tariff on or other sectors as well? It's a question, nothing more.
I'm happy with WTO rules.
I don't know if they cover insurance.
Lloyds will carry on regardless.
I'm not aware if we buy much insurance from abroad.

If I had to guess, there were too many skeletons in the Boris cupboard that would have come out in the leadership election. The press would have had a field day.
Presumably it would knock a dead pig's head into a top hat.An interesting thought...but why did the media hold back during the Brexit campaign, and if it's that juicy surely they'll run the stories anyway.

Self-serving tt. But then we knew that already. Not an ounce of conviction.
How do you figure that - I would argue that its actually Gove who has caused this and is self-serving.He stepped down to cause further issues in the party which is exactly what is needed for the party right now......
Alas I think this will mean Corbyn will be PM in 2020...

If you want to go all Patrick Minford, then we should just shut down all car production immediately. After all, we would all be better off. Wouldn't we?
No. I'm in favour of a healthy, competitive market. We can only negotiate the tariffs the EU impose on our exports to them, but we shouldn't loose sight of the fact that the knee jerk reaction of just defensively imposing higher import tariffs does not improve things, does not make for better negotiation and does not make us wealthier. If you look at it in extremis, you could argue that the only way to make these industries safe is to put up 100% tariffs on imports and make all car manufacturers state owned. Clearly that's nonsense.
Having just voted for less interference from big government, I really feel we should be working towards a light touch, pro-active business climate. If the EU wants to go the other way, then we should resist being pulled back into the sort of quagmire that we've just escaped from.

Yes he has - that's politicians for you. There's no trusting a word they don't say.As per my recent post, it turns out Boris was stting himself. Which is a pity for the Tories in terms of 2020.
