Border at Calais - Camps in UK???
Discussion
Interesting comments from the French.
"The days when the French handled the whole burden and the British signed a cheque are over. To date, the means they have put into it have been largely cosmetic, that has to stop,"
"The British people have chosen to take back their freedom, they must take back their borders,"
"Boris Johnson wanted change and he got it with Brexit. So do we."
What happens when the fences at Calais (which the UK pay for and maintain) get knocked down and the French don't do a dam thing about it, think EU migration will be the least of the problems.

We can choose to do as we like. Maybe just like we do at the airports, we just send them back to their port of departure on the next available transport."The days when the French handled the whole burden and the British signed a cheque are over. The French Govt reiterated its commitment to Le Touquet over le weekend. Perhaps some localised claims?

Where the French refuse them access. The tunnel and the ferries full of irregular immigrants going backwards and forwards.SeeFive said:

Airport are different, you will have a passport, if they come by a very short sea crossing with no passport, where will you send them? Illegals with no passport are very difficult to process and end up in the system for years, eventually after 12 year Boris will make them Citizens... Nice one Leavers!! Casa1862 said:

Utter horse crap! The Calais mayor wanted it gone ages ago as she saw they were only there to get into Britain and because she thought they were attarcted by the benefits and life Britains just gives them , so it was in here and the locals interest to wave them on.
The failure is a French one by not actually processing the people and wanting to mass deport them back if they would fail any asylum claim, or accept them if they wouldn't. Maybe they'll not now build them huts and encourage them to come and stay and try and jump on a truck night after night, but deal with them.

Back to port of embarkation, not home country. We control our borders, out of line paperwork, no entry. Back to where you came from. It's one approach...And we don't have to send them back via the same vehicle they arrived. In some cases (for example arriving by train out east) you are left standing at the border and have to make your own arrangements to get somewhere else. Whilst I am sure we would not want to do that, there are plenty of other boats awaiting scrapping (I can see some big grey ones from here) which could do the job.

If the situation was the other way around, and hundreds of thousands of migrants who were already in the UK, but wanted to get into France, do you believe the French would just allow the UK to dump them off at Calais? They would say sorry, but its down to YOUR lax border controls, that you have let hundreds of thousands of migrants build up in camps at Dover, so they are your problem, not ours. don't try to dump them all here.
Why then should it be any different to the situation as it exists now? It was Southern French border controls which allowed the migrants to come virtually unchecked into France in the first place. It is therefore a French problem.
The only blame that could be levelled at the UK is that with Bliar inviting millions to the UK, and advertising what wonderful benefits and hand outs they will all receive, when they get here, it has drawn migrants to the UK from across the globe, and who can blame them for wanting to come here?

Do you think the french are going to remove their boarder controls? So when we go across the channel we just wander in and out as we please. There have always been boarder controls before, and during our membership of the EU. there will still be boarder controls after it.
The lines may come back to the UK, and the french may go back to France, but the boarders will still be there.
Try to look past the headline.

That's actually quite amusing in a sort of "surly no one would suggest any this so stupid" sort of way.

So let me get this straight. You are proposing using boats to invade French territory to drop off irregular immigrants??

ETA: can't be that stupid as we already do it at airports.

If the French turned up in Dover with boatloads of migrants, why should the UK government accept them, any more than the French would accept them being shipped over in boat loads from camps in the UK?
