But if you listen to the leave campaign they don't want Article 50 being triggered just yet. They need to build the plan and decide what they want out the spilt. Invoking it means the clock starts and they have to have everything agreed in 2years.
So actually he is doing exactly what the leave camp want, and far from being spineless.
But he is not there to pander to any campaign. He is there to serve the British public, Industry, etc.So actually he is doing exactly what the leave camp want, and far from being spineless.

Except of course pre the referendum result he was quite clear about the fact that following an exit vote he would be invoking Article 50 the day after. Which he then didn't do because he got the result he wasn't expecting. Which isn't fair at all.
The vote was to leave. That's all it was. He is under no obligation re time limits. The vote was whether to leave or not. I don't remember his suggesting he'd invoke Article 50 but I do remember some idiot suggesting that £350m per day would go to the NHS.

Well, initially they tried to say that they'd never said the (imaginary) £350m would go the NHS but once it was pointed out that that really they did say that, along with the bks about stopping immigration, they conceded on 'wrong to say that'.
Which is fine. As long as they've now admitted it was incorrect, then all is ok.
The fact that a not inconsiderable number of gullible people will have voted based on those claims obviously doesn't matter.

Forgot to add: where the hell were Gove and Boris for the session in the commons?
I listened to it all on the radio and couldn't believe that they hadn't even got the bks, or decency, to turn up. As was pointed out multiple times by various MPs.
I was fuming listening to it.

Doubtful - it was a £350m per week surely.
It was meant ironically. £350m was a made-up figure, or rather a lie. To emphasise it I exaggerated. Just like they did.At least we're not embroiled in WW3 yet, that would make the EU fees look like small change. The risks are clear and present. Remain said so. Any idea of the date?

Isn't that the problem? A spineless prime minister with sloping shoulders.
I don't see why he should start a job that he wouldn't even finish, moreso if he was against the idea in the first place.turbobloke said:
