Can anyone recommend a site for truly FREE web hosting (including with unlimited, or at least a decent amount, of bandwidth)?

Most 'free' services seem to offer quite draconian limits on bandwidth for free hosting sites.

Thanks

Github pages.

Unlimited bandwidth though only one site per account.

Thanks I had a look at that, but it's pretty impenetrable, so not for me (I used to be pretty tech savvy, but modern documentation leaves me bewildered. I suppose it's so the vendor can sell you horrendously expensive certification courses to explain how it actually works! biggrin)

Still looking for suggestions, although I may have found a friendly site owner who can help...

Basic hosting services are like, £3 a month. Just pay for something.

£15/annum for TSOHost.

Not unlimited bandwidth though, but if you're getting that much traffic you sure as hell don't want to be on a free host!

Well, that's the rub, there's no commercial value to it, so it's only for interest. I've been hosting it on a paid server, but my interest had waned and, therefore, my enthusiasm for paying to do so.

It looks, though, that someone has stepped up to offer me free hosting, so that's sorted it.

If you dont want to pay anything but want somewhere to host a small site, sign up to wordpress.com because a hosting provider will probably put you beyond the back of the pile when things go wrong if they have 'free' hosting for your domain

I use x10hosting for mock-ups and such. Seems to work well.

I can't think why?

The ones that don't will usually put malicious ads all over your pages to cover the costs. But thanks to adblockers, these are dying out.

Bandwidth isn't free, and you can't have an infinite amount of it, even if you owned your own datacenter...

I'm curious to what you host that requires 'unlimited' bandwidth that you refuse to pay even a penny for.

Does seem odd to require unlimited bandwidth for free! If the bandwidth is getting used up surely it's better to have a good host & to pay? Unless you are just publishing huge images or something.....
