Now tell me what % of the 33% was "control of immigration" and what percentage was "send all the feckers home"
Well given the poster that the Trump supporting ukip-is-he-isnt-he leader Farage (who is still being paid by the EU, note) put up I would suggest that it is very much send 'em back.
OK so not a percentage then

17.4 Million voted leave

5.7 Million is 33%

So we have everyone interviewed by the media - lets say 1,000 people (don't want to be accused of under estimation biggrin

How many more people do you want to add to the "send em back" group?

News in the Torygraph this morning.

Foxtons announce a 30% drop in property transactions in London since the vote.

And Fintech funding in London has fallen off a cliff due to all the uncertainty.
Not dismissing any of the other bad news but in the case of Foxtons and the London property market, good. It is ridiculous and needs to cool off and I welcome it Brexit or not.

I haven't seen any suggestions that anyone will be "sent back".

You are just inventing stuff in typical Remoan style.

Correct, my personal interpretation is that our PM will be seeking a deal with the EU based upon a mutual agreement that allows all current settled EU persons to be able to remain in the U.K. for as long as they wish. In return our PM will want in exchange a reciprocal agreement with the EU regards to ex pats and workers in the EU.

As abhorrent as I view that ^ I do think that the EU will certainly use the UK Ex-Pat population as a chip in the big game.....

Quid pro Quo - pronto - once negotiations start

A win for both and some positivity

I would hope that it's the first thing discussed, and both parties agree to take all settled migrants off the negotiating table immediately.

I think settled is someone who has permanent right to residence, pretty sure it's a standard technical term as it's used in passport applications etc.

So you need to have lived in the UK for 5 years.
From when?
Does that really mean 2.5 years as of June 24th 2016?

All I am saying is that it's not straightforward!

It should be easy for the UK and EU to agree upon what the criteria for settled is. The objective should be too ensure as many citizens as possible, on both sides do not have their lives turned upside down. I can see no reason why this cannot be negotiated before A50 is declared - the EU is at fault here, not the UK.

Business already moving to EU.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/news/br...

Ken Clarke telling it how it is on QT - "all that bks about selling us cars....".

Greek bloke saying May is making promises to Nissan she can't keep. Correct.

Lady says "lets get out, do it". Greek guy says "do you want customs to affect your local businesses?" She shakes her head, not making the connection.

Another saying "we can do WTO, it'll be fine".

"Lets just do art 50 and get out"

The brexiteers are all getting a bit shouty....

This is going really well. One thing to notice is that the split in opinion is getting worse, not receeding or moderating. Every day is littered with more negative stories (that are not made up) about Brexit.

There is a thread for QT, comment there if you wish to discuss that would be the sensible approach.

Was the Greek chap in the same meeting as you with May and Ghosn?

I'll discuss it where I like, thanks. What is it with brexiteers telling remainers what to do? We aren't in a facist dictatorship - yet. Are you like the shouty ones on QT?

The Greek chap wasn't in the meeting, nor was I. But his observations are credible and mirror what I said a few days ago. Its speculation, but considered and intelligent speculation, whether you like it or not.

No comment on business moving to the EU? Thought not, if we just ignore it, we can convince ourselves its not happening.

I said it would be sensible to discuss the comments regarding QT in the appropriate thread if you wish a sensible approach, I didn't order you that you had to do that. Yet again you twist other peoples words. Do you have a comprehension deficit issue?

You agree with the Greek chap because he has the same opinion as you, quell surprise. That doesn't mean he knows what was discussed any more than I do.

And fishing, don't forget fishing.
Trawling for fish in coal powered tractors.

We've been highly vulnerable as an economy by our over-reliance on FS and foreign property buyers for a good while. It would have been better to achieve diversification through other means though. This is not going to be an easy transition.
I agree. Won't be easy. A restructuring is going to need to happen. My views are that it'll be akin to the early 80s. Old industries will go kicking and screaming and some people will have to do something different for a living.
Which was a good time for pop music. So not all bad smile
