The only drawback are the opening hours, ours was / is still 10am-6pm (2pm on Saturday) which means a bit of planning. But as above excellent choice, except cider. Choice of cider in Sweden was not to my taste so used to bring an estate car loaded up to gunwhales.

Anyway what does Scandinavian attitude to buying alcohol and visibility of individual tax status have anything to do with the thread subject, ie Brexit route.

Yep, statistically they don't drink that much but consume lots of sugar!

Also a good market in flavourings, so you can turn your moonshine into an approximation of whisky.

Things might have changed now, but the vinmonopolets (state booze stores) used to just increase the price of the wine that they had imported by a nominal cost of living increase every year. Obviously, some of the good French wines increased in price much more back in France, so colleagues working for Total/Elf would buy up the good French wines and import them back to France for a healthy profit.
