Long story short.
I have a 2.5 Boxster (1996) and a 2.7 Boxster (2003)

Recently sold my Jaguar XJR and I am missing that real surge the Jaguar had. Loads of Paramount tuning and suspension mods.

Should I be looking at another Boxster, maybe 3.2 S or is a 996 a better option?

It seems so many people have so many horror stories about IMS, Bore scoring, blown engine issues with this engine, that engine, this year , that year, that model, this model, my poor head is beginning to hurt with it all.

Can anyone give me a definitive `Blacklist` of Boxster and 996 models that would be worth avoiding or at least approaching with extreme caution, and why you feel that way about them in particular?
Budget is 12 to 14k

If the model you decide on is known for a particular weakness - just buy one thats had the remedial work already done, or buy a Hartech plan. Worry no longer. thumbup

This is clearly where Pistonheads still makes good reading.
