Just picked this up today. Its for my wife who had a Merc coupe before which she loves, but we decided to get a dog so it was a bit unsuitable. She fancied having a higher driving position but rejected the proposal of a transit (same height as an SUV right ?) so when I spotted this on AT in Newport I thought it was worth a look. It was at Wessex Garages (kia) who had taken it in in part-ex.

2014, 34K miles but with FLRSH (high mileage I know but my wife is at home and does about 5-6K a year so in the long run it's immaterial) and to be honest we plan to keep this until it dies. The fact it still had a years manufacturer warranty left and an offer of 0% finance sealed it for me so I was well happy with the deal I got.

Plans are to swap the LR badges to black ones (don't like the Green), swap the projector halogens to xenons (and get the CCF adjusted) and fit a reversing camera.

Some pics

My mum has one of these, when I first drove it I expected to hate it, but was very pleasantly surprised. So much so that i've told her that if she ever sells it, to give me first refusal.

That looks very smart. Like a baby Range Rover, good call on the badges the black ones look better, you can get the wheel caps with black badges to.

34k in 2+ years isn't high mileage. Don't worry about it.

Looks very nice. Not too blingy either.

The two tone leather is very nice.

The green badges really stick out like a wart on a pretty girls face. Its not even that you've mentioned it they really stand out.

Cheers. I got home and went for a short drive in it last night.
Thoughts are: the steering is very light indeed takes some getting used to. It's quite a bouncy ride, but it's very comfortable..potholes simply don't exist !

It goes OK actually, more than able to keep up with traffic and not as agricultural sounding as some reports said it would be.

Infotainment - baffling ! Much reading of the manual required hehe

Love the raised driving position, it's all country lanes round here so being a bit higher pays off in terms of seeing what's coming up. It's not that wide either so no issues with tight passes. The seats are lovely and along with the armrest gives you a very relaxed driving position...like that a lot.

All in all I'm liking it so far..but those badges have to go ! biggrin

Looks like a well specced LR!

I'd read recently on some of the latest JLR products that the infotainment system's perhaps "not as good as it should be", and isn't very easy to use. Well, I can tell you, Ford's Sync system's pretty st, so the JLR system can't be worse!

BTW, what breed of dog are you getting?

A colleague bought a 2008 model in 2011 with 100k on the clock for a bargain price and has run it since then without a single issue, must be knocking on for 150k now. He finds it very comfortable and practical and with his relaxed driving style gets almost 40mpg.

They are a great car; we did 60,000 happy miles in a 2007 SE manual, and bought one of the Metropolis run-out models new in 2014.

My local Land Rover dealer tells me that demand is still very high as Evoque buyers realise they need more room, so consequently prices have risen.

Very pleased with ours; the dogs like it too.

Got the badges done - looks miles better.

While at it, decided to give the car a good going over so I : snowfoamed/Washed/Clayed/Machine polished it (Menzerna). Then added a couple of coats of Bilt-Hamber Auto Balm, AG Vinyl care on the arches and broke out the trusty autosol and wire wool for the exhaust.

She's looking good now !

Funnily enough, if I won the lottery I'd do detailing as a hobby. I'm doing my neighbour's car as a belated birthday present when I get a free weekend. My wife despairs when the latest delivery from CleanYourCar or PolishedBliss turns up hehe
