What a huge own goal it would be if the Torys picked Leadsom over May.
But then look at the trio they picked in the noughties.

May got 199 MP votes Leadsom 84 if she wins she will not command a majority of MP's in the house and we could end up with Corbyn mk2. Anyone know the odds on May to win?.
Jesus H fking christ, if that happened....not sure how more absurd UK politics could go...

I like the conjoining of 'lead-keeled' to 'copper-bottomed', I'll be using that.

I'm guessing she actually said something like "We need to invoke Article 50 before Aslan the Lion breaks into my ice-palace and breathes life into the petrified husks of my enemies"...and that's, like, 132 characters....but the Times just assumed she was bat-shyte crazy and, with the deadline for the front page looming, made something up which most folk would believe.

Wow, what a piece of work.
“She found it difficult to understand issues or take decisions. She was monomaniacal, seeing the EU as the source of every problem,”

I wonder why she has done it, if she has of course. Good of the party will be the explanation, if she has any sense, but there's got to be more. Where did the pressure come from? What was it? More out of the closet perhaps?
Possibly, she's been caught up on a few things, and handled them poorly. Maybe she thought she wasn't up to it...or her backers did...or she has come under immense pressure from somewhere...

jesus fking christ...what passes for reporters in the UK? 'why have you changed your mind Mrs Leadsom' after just listening to a speech stating exactly why...fking retarded reporters...I don't know who is worse...

edit.
reporter mentioned private chats about 'abuse' from colleagues...I can just imagine...

Indeed. Just in the UK we may have:

PM: May
LOO: Eagle
Scotland: Sturgeon
Scotland Opp: Davidson
Northern Ireland: Woman whose name I've forgotten.

It's like the Spice Girls all over again.

I recall that when G Brown was "appointed" by Blair, the Tories were up in arms saying there ought to be a General Election.
I wonder when we will be going to the Polls?
Indeed.

Anyone see Chukka's comments on May and the remain campaign? He reckons she was planning her leadership campaign instead. biggrin

Exactly what I just said to my missus!

Leadsom should have been a bit quicker and replied "If you had listened to me rather than playing Candy Crush you would have heard my reasons. Maybe ask one of the reporters from the other channels to fill you in?"
laugh

Behind the st-eating grin, May is thinking …

“How the fk did it come to this? I had the credibility of getting the votes from the MPs and Leadsom then should have got all the retired, racist Colonels from Surrey to vote her in as PM. She was supposed to invoke Article 50 and let me sweep in to sort out the mess in a year or two’s time. Jesus H Christ, maybe Boris isn’t such a fool after all.”

I don’t see she can step down now, but I bet she wants to.
I bet she wishes Eagle would challenge her too. biggrin

Anything in the conspiracy theory that Andrea Leadsom's parenting gaffe & subsequent withdrawal from the running was all a cunning plan to speed up the process of getting Teresa May into No.10 asap, without the need to have the rank & file voting for a further 9 weeks?
It's saved them having a Labour moment.

Maybe try this;

Both are basically an interview with director general of WTO on brexit.
Thank you. smile
