Gove has it to lose imho.
Well I doubt that.

He does though seem to be the only one who gets what the Thursday referendum result was about, which was far more than membership of the EU.

I correctly called the Brexit vote (ok, 64% was a bit too much).

You all laughed at me then. Well you're not laughing now.

Theresa Gove for me.

The vote was purely about the EU. There was nothing else on the paper. Any conclusions as to the intent of each individual voter is guesswork.

Watched Gove's speech and thought it was poor. When does Andrea deliver hers?
Almost like he wanted people to vote for anyone but Gove. I expect Andrea can deliver a good performance.

Now I think about it, I am not sure I turned the paper over!
Maybe there was something on the back about your vote counting as thumbing your nose at wealth inequality as well as current party leaders and sod short term economic concerns. I definitely missed that.

I think Gove is on a promise from May.

It's the tartan suit that does it.

Anybody who watched the Pre-vote Wembley show would know she is a no hoper. Every sentence contained 'vote leave take control'. We all know what mindless waffle that was, unfortunately the mentally challenged believed it!
Only May is untainted by such nonsense, but she could easily lose the subsequent GE to any 'rip up the referendum' party or coalition

I've just seen the Michael Gove speech, reminded me of Ed Miliband, 1/2 expecting a Gove stone.

He has little presence. On top of that he has his appearance. It is, I think, difficult to take him seriously. Yet in his present role he seems to be taking on some of the sacred cows. He has little chance of getting his changes through, it is suggested, especially now he is likely to move on.

A strange chap. Not without ability, but a micromanager type, with all that that entails.

I think you underestimate him. He took on the teaching profession, not an easy task, and won. He is doing some good stuff as Lord Chancellor. He tries to do the right thing, not the politically expedient thing.

May for me. Of all the candidates I think she has the right balance of:
  • Getting on with everyone, including both EU remainers and leavers
  • Having appeal beyond the Conservative party. My OH is Labour all the way, and even she says that she could vote for May
  • Being credible in Brexit negotiations
  • Being likeable
She strikes me as having a bit of humility about her. In her speech she said that she didn't gossip in corners of the House or go to the Commons bar, she just got on with her work. There's something that I quite like about that. Personally I've had enough of showboating politicians making wild promises.

I'd want May for PM, Gove in a back-room role connected with Brexit discussions.

I would tend to agree with that. I think she would certainly increase the Conservative majority.

Just got mail from 2 local tory party members - receiving messaging now to change their vote to Andrea Leadsom
And they are agreeing!
Well, well.

Can't wait to hear her speech.

From the small amount i have seen i really like this Angela leadsom. I have seen a couple of clips of her and she is very well presented and very passionate, something i just have never seen in my lifetime (was a child when thatcher was about).

She doesn't appear to have any tainted history either, seems like she can hold her own and seems likeable.

I think we need a new iron lady, someone who doesn't give a fk and does what she believes is best for the nation.

Either her or may, that gove just doesn't look credible, he doesn't seem to strike any authority at all, i wouldn't be nervous meeting him, i would be nervous to meet may and possibly leadsom, much much more credible on the face of things.

Whoever gets the top job has an opportunity here to become a great leader or a total total failure.
