Wouldn't be surprised if there's one in the US in the next 6-12 months too. The Fed is bluffing with the talk of rate hikes IMO.

It's an indication that they think the economy is weak.

Potentially good if you have debt, bad if you have savings.

Trying to stave off a recession?

Two cuts priced in for 2016 (hence the move in FX rates and the yield curve since last week).

Yes, I think there's one in the pipeline regardless of Brexit.

Yup, even the EU is forecast to dip into recession. We won't technically know until next year?

Perhaps, you only know you're in recession 2 quarters after the fact.

I'm going to have to dig out my mortgage agreement to have a look at whether it says anything about my tracker rate tracking into negative rates, or whether 0% is as low as it goes! hehe

I remember people telling me I was nuts to go for base rate plus 1.2% when I could've got base rate plus 0.5%.

That was 9 years ago. I'm really rather glad I went for a life-of-mortgage tracker rate rather than a 2 year deal. hehe

If it's the Guardian and related to 'leave' it's BAD, very, very BAD, as BAD as Osborne's emergency budget.

What happened to the emergency budget?
