Yes, I thought the reporter was being racist to point it out. To your other point, why does UKIP welcome non-whites? There seems plenty of minorities in UKIP, even one of their spokesmen, Wolfe (sp?), is of mixed race.

Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't quite a few minorities left UKIP because they found out it was populated with a surprisingly large number of racists?

Dunno. Certainly there have been a few very vocal leavers, but I got the impression that at least some joined and then left as a smear tactic, based on their previous allegiances they didnt seem likely kippers.

Was it really a surprisingly large number, or a predictably large number?

Funny in that article where Farage begs not be called a racist party.......from now on....its almost as if he's sweeping some unpleasant past under the carpet.

I think you're giving far too much credit to those who left, to suggest that it was part of some grand cunning plan .

Also one of the things that UKIP trumpeted was the fact that they were drawing support from across the political spectrum so I'm not sure why previous allegiances would make you suspect they were plants?

I was thinking more of Winston McKenzie. He is thick as two short planks but complained that it must be racism that prevented him being promoted in the party. Which in itself is thick, as UKIP needed ethnic minorities amongst its leadership to counter claims of racism.
