For the good of the majority ??? further to May's speech saying she will govern for the little man ...
should our deals on trade in goods , fishing , cars and agricultural produce etc that benefits the wider economy be done even if they have to give concessions maybe against the best interests of the city of london and the financial sector?? something that makes a lot of money for a privileged few and pays some tax ,
is it a perfect opportunity to re balance our economy ...
ah, a blast from the past!

"If we consider adding 10,000 new jobs in the banking industry over the next four years, then, according to our prudent estimate, an additional 21,000 jobs could be created in Frankfurt City. In the optimistic case, this could result in up to an additional 88,000 new jobs in the Rhine-Main region."

Where are they getting 10,000 from? They're basing everything on that assumption, but never cite their source for it.

Hardly, both sides are agenda pushing. The actual news is how far Frankfurt and Dublin and behind and the absolute dominance of London, New York and Hong Kong.

Passporting arguments have the same weight as the cleaners at NASA arguing whether to use CIF or JIF on the floor. Even if Euro cities creep up the tables, London and Hong Kong may benefit from Trump action (poor eurozone economic performance and can kicking of ECB are still the major factors at play - not too mention anti trust actions of the EC which will present a hassle relocation from London). For all your Euro flag waving, there is almost no way out of QE without major Eurozone restructuring and dealing with periphery.

Picking it out their a**e. And the 88,000; that was from the economic effects of fracking in the US - roughnecks rolling into town with danger money and no financial commitments beyond their bar tab.

I don't think they make any claims regarding how many financial jobs will relocate, the report is rather the a big up for the economic multiplier. Probably a pitch for municipal investment.

Chubb, the acquisitive US group led by chief executive Evan Greenberg, already has a big operation in Paris and said the city was a “clear choice” for its new EU headquarters.

“We have a significant investment there in both financial and human resources, as well as a large portfolio of commercial and consumer insurance business throughout France,” said Mr Greenberg.
Company that have already invested a lot of money in french operations continue to do so. What a shocker.

Why won't they say how many employees they have in the UK out of interest?
