Twitter suggesting social media is all down in the country (some irony in that!) but national media seemingly still running as normal.

When Turkey is concerned I think it's their external actions that could give us things to worry about, since they're one of our NATO allies.

If this is, as the media is suggesting, a faction within the military what's the next step? Meet force with force, or force them to climb down?

A military coup in Turkey is really what the world needs right now.
Actually it might help in my view. Lock down the borders to Syria at least and stop it being a transit point for certain groups.

Also it will rule them out for EU membership for another 10 years. What a shame.

One thing to say when they told Russia to Foxtrot Oscar and not fly over or close to their country if they ignore they stand by their words and shoot them down.

To be fair isn't it the military that defend the secular nature of the state, in the spirit Attaturk, whenever the government slip into troubling behaviour?

Major question is who is helping, Russia or us?
These things generally don't happen without outside support.

You might want to check which side the military part of the airport is supporting.

Nothing worse than waiting for your baggage while the other half of the airport is being shelled.

Pretty much this. They've had to do it a few times.
