Abductors carried knives and are described as of being of middle eastern origin. Marham base involved with IS bombings, I think.

No I'm sure you got that wrong. It was East Midlands. Bloody Leicester - win the football and think they can start taking liberties.

"The suspects fled the scene in a dark coloured people carrier and are yet to be found.

The first man was 20 to 30 years old, around 6ft tall, of athletic but stocky build, with dark hair which was long on top, had a well-groomed beard, of Middle Eastern origin in appearance with a dark skin tone and wore dark casual clothing.

The second man was younger than the first, of slimmer build, around 5ft 10, clean shaven with short dark hair, of Middle Eastern origin in appearance and wore a white t-shirt and dark shorts".

Maybe they wanted to drag him off to the pub and buy him a pint for all the good work Marham has been doing in its fight against IS. Then again, maybe they wanted to cut his head off live over the internet.

It will turn out to be two Uber drivers and a software glitch that led to a double booking.

Not sure what all the fuss is about.

Whilst I wouldn't want the serviceman to have put himself in any danger, I really really hope that the reason that "both men fled in a car" was because he gave them both a proper hiding.

The BBC website has the exact same description of the men as the ITV site, saying they were of Middle Eastern appearance.

Sky news just popped up to say there will be increased police 'vigilance' of military bases. Seems absurd really.

Jogging = fit
Serviceman = 'trained killer'

Gentlemen of middle eastern origin = chancers

Result = fled

About right that.

Or more likely as soon as he realised something was up he just legged it.

I live behind a marine camp and despite the fact there tough as nails , it's a numbers game and if there are enough locals/bouncers they get a hiding .

'One apparently shouted at him and made an attempt to grab him. The victim successfully fought him off, causing the suspect to fall to the ground.

The second man, who was armed with a knife, made to approach the victim, before helping his accomplice on the ground.'

Someone should have slotted the s.

BBC saying there may have been more in the people carrier. Motives are still unclear.

fk me. This is becoming daily.

I would hope the ANPR listings for that area are being filtered as we speak for dark coloured people carriers, and go from there.

Bases are secured suspect threat level has just gone up though. Regular police will be covering the off base threat.
