It's close to the A47, a major route in East Anglia. I'd have thought there'd be cameras on that road.
A47, that's almost, like AK47. Coincidence?

Wonder why they didnt flatten him with the car and then attack him as per the Lee Rigby attack. Doesnt seem to have been a particularly serious or planned attempt to get the serviceman.
They don't want a dead body if they are after a hostage.

You're right. I need to relax. In fact I've just seen the funny side of it. Hell, I even had to go to the window for air it was that funny.

I'm going to copy the image and email it to Marham base, marked FAO British Serviceman who just had two middle eastern looking guys come at him with a 3 inch military style knife. He'll love it.
It's probably already been photoshopped and pinned up in the NAAFI.
Yup, civilians don't get forces humor. You can bet that the blokes oppo's are planning to burst into to his mess covered in boot polish shouting "alans snackbar" any minute now smile

Not funny, and could mislead the search if reposted elsewhere. Take it down.
I didn't find it very funny (nor do I think it's offensive) but 'mislead the search"? Come off it.

Channel Four are reporting he couldn't hear what they were shouting at him as he was were wearing headphones.

Shame. After a good run he would probably need a healthy snack bar.

His dislike of BBC is only equalled by his dislike of Muslims. The scary part, if he's not making it up, is that he's teaching kids.

This issue is making the ten o'clock news, and some folk want to distract - wonder why. If they have issues, they should talk to a Mod. smile

Back on topic, hopefully some on here do not want this thread closed too because of some truths..

Newsworthy item, so not surprising it's made the news.

What's been said on here that warrants a thread closure?
I can't see anything.

Tidworth and Bulford army camps on Salisbury Plain have been on lockdown tonight after a security alert.

Hopefully a "false alarm" but worrying all the same.

You won't need to.
I've personally never witnessed such heavy handed moderation on this or any other forum. Just when those who regularly defend the actions of criminal scum are asked to expand on their statements, threads are closed. Then opened again. Then closed. No racial slurs or epithets and name calling kept to an absolute minimum. Quite a reserved and moderate debate, considering what certain individuals have been putting the world through in recent times, yet still deemed too hot for the publishers to handle.

I can entirely understand why some other threads were closed.

Anyway - well done to the bloke who resisted abduction and I hope they sort out some way of protecting them - I work in the area and it's pretty loose once off base.
