I've personally never witnessed such heavy handed moderation on this or any other forum. Just when those who regularly defend the actions of criminal scum are asked to expand on their statements, threads are closed. Then opened again. Then closed. No racial slurs or epithets and name calling kept to an absolute minimum. Quite a reserved and moderate debate, considering what certain individuals have been putting the world through in recent times, yet still deemed too hot for the publishers to handle.
PC dear boy, PC.

I always find it odd seeing service people in full rig everywhere. When I did a short stint in the Andrew in the early 90s you didn't go ashore in uniform in case the Irish tried to kill you. Apparently we are in the midst of a terror war and yet the same standing order hasn't returned.
In this case though ( probably ), that would mean you are at war with the people ( OK, a certain demographic, probably ) of our own country, and that aint such a great look.

Yes. couldn't agree more. Has a touch of the Dimbleby/Evan Davis about it......'Uh, oh....we're in danger of getting to the truth. Quick, change the subject, ignore the question.....or on an internet forum....close the thread. At best, cowardly. At worst, sinister.
Interesting to note the foul language being allowed bandwidth over on the 'Bob Geldof is a ' thread.....

How about a proper debate on PC, censorship and thread closure ? You start.

The problem is we will never get to the truth. These always turn into a argument about religion/Islam/Muslims/ISIS and we just go back and forth until the threads get closed.

It's very on & off. I'll immediately hold my hands up to not being squeaky clean in terms of having a little pop and/or dig within threads from time to time, although that's usually driven by my own peculiar sense of humour and not out of any malice. However, someone took adequate offence to that recently to completely groundlessly accuse me of carrying out a particularly-unpleasant criminal act. For the first time in my 9+ years here, I used the report button to protest. Checked that the mods had received, which they had, but absolutely nothing was done about it - or at least, not reported back to me if it was. I'm pretty sure it was a genuine libel, although I haven't the time or energy to progress it, but I did expect Haymarket to step in, if only to protect themselves.

Apologies for the hijack.

Judging by the news this morning, it seems that the Airman was covered in one of the attackers DNA.

It would be really good if the two are reported to the police by other moderates within their circle.

Is that a factual "the airman inflicted injuries resulting in blood loss" report, or a Mail-style "they were quite close to each other so it's possible that a slight breeze MIGHT have blown a stray hair onto the airman's t-shirt but we haven't confirmed whether it was one of the attackers' hairs yet" report?

Source please?

Yes, that would be a real 'community' gesture and the British thing to do. Undoubtably they will have friends or family who will know it was them.

Here's hoping for some news that these two potential violent murderers are reported by their own communities. After all, if it is true that Muslim communities are as British as others (and I truly believe they are) then they will be reported shortly.

I just refuse to believe that they will be sheltered and protected by entire Muslim communities. Come on guys, let's have some British solidarity in these great islands of ours!

What's been said on here that warrants a thread closure?
I can't see anything.
It's a tactic....

1. Make sarcastic suggestion about Mods closing threads
2. Hope that mods become worried about being overly PC
3. make various bigoted assertions, comments about RoP, and links to Jihadiwatch
4. Mods close thread
5. Accuse mods of being overly PC
