Sounds like one of them has committed suicide.
Worthless grubs.

As much as intelligence us useful, I'd always prefer the perpetrators - like the Nice truck killer - enjoy no further life or publicity of any kind.
Yes, need to catch a few and waterboard the fk out of them, I am not into people being tortured but ffs, this is getting too frequent, find what they know then throw away the key

Possibly in some cases yes - positive discrimination, tokenism etc. But that's not the point, or the issue here.

More accurately and for modern times; I think you can directly translate Powell's sentiments to other minorities we have welcomed with open arms.
Positive discrimination, tokenism are a by-product of discrimination unfortunately - neither would exist without it.

Early reports of Nice attack were 10 dead. Then 24. Then 50.

Hard to say yet where this one is going.

And German police routinely carry guns. When this happens here God knows how long until an armed response turns up. If it happens in Southampton or Bath or York or Preston will armed police even be in the same city?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firearms_unit
"On the 13th January 2016, following the November 2015 Paris attacks it was decided to significantly increase the numbers of armed officers in London. The Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe has decided that he will double the number of armed officers and promised a 'significant' further announcement."

It might increase.
I don't think London would be much of an issue barring the time it takes to get across the city but as the poster said, any of the smaller UK cities and it's a very different story imo

There will be armed police on scene quickly in any city.
I would be happier if I was allowed to be armed so that if there is an attack, I, and worse my baby or wife, are not (hopefully) long dead before the police arrive....

Just heard one reporter try and make a link with the Munich Olympics in the 70s. Utterly ridiculous.
Why?

Bring back The Cold War. Things were much safer then.
Was much safer before we invaded Iraq, Saddam would have extinguished these nutters before they got a foot hold.
Sadly it would seem that getting rid of dictators such as Saddam Hussein and Col Gadaffi has opened a Pandoras Box of evil.

Wasn't that link only mentioning that some element of the Munich Olympics situation was enacted in the same area as the current event ?

Well done all you enlightened people.
It would have to get a heck of a lot worse to be like Syria.
Daily causalities of 20plus are not unusual.

Seldom reliable. Even dead, once identity is established, even without other immediate material evidence, it's surprising how rapidly movements and communications can be pieced together. We need to allow security to get a bit more proactive, but that requires a degree of understanding from Muslims that they are not being victimised.

Is it just me or does that show some white bloke shooting at another bloke in possibly Muslim headwear?

Very true but I deleted my post it was a bit out of order considering we don't know who did it.

The recent spate of attacks was very predictable and was predicted a while ago, I recall a speech in the European parliament by Farage. I disagree with him on many points, but I recall over a year ago when he made the speech, nodding my head in agreement.

Very sad state of affairs, but unavoidable when you look at the Asylum seeker immigration Policy adopted by the EU. I'm actually surprised that there hasn't been more attacks.

Makes me feel hopelessly sad.
Yep, it is depressingly predictable. It will turn out that some of the attackers will have recently arrived as 'refugees/migrants' as part of the million plus that Germany let in completely unchecked last year.

As horrible as these cowardly attacks are, Germany knew the risks it was taking by letting in so many random people from a frighteningly unstable part of the world. Most of whom are hopelessly devoted to a barbaric religion that is stuck in the Middle Ages.

It's looking like Donald Trump actually has a point; stop ALL Muslim immigration to the EU and stop it now. No, it won't make the current problems better but it certainly will stop them getting any worse.

Would they not be attacking anyone who looks like an immigrant if that were the case, rather than indiscriminately shooting passers by?
ETA - perhaps not, it is being reported that the gunman shouted 'fking Foreigners' before opening fire!

Assuming it is who we think it is, it's just crazy, just about all other terrorist orgnisations had some vaguely realistic aims to justify carrying out atrocities... but do these fellas really think they're going to "win" and the whole world will just convert to their particular brand of Islam?
That is their plan. It's perfectly realistic to them as they have for ever to accomplish it. They are in no rush.

True but if it's some right wing nutters, it all stems from the same problem.

It's very plausible that other terrorist groups could start to target and attack European Muslims in tit for tat actions, which is really going to blow the whole thing wide open.

The authorities really need to get a handle on this before it explodes.
They should have got a fking handle on it years ago before it escalated to this state instead of mouthing platitudes about 'multi-culturlism' and 'diversity'.

Politicians right across Europe are responsible for this clusterfk.

The likes of Blair, Mandelson et al should be fking strung up with piano wire.
