So there were 3 gunmen, in a crowded shopping centre and the surrounding area, and 6 people are confirmed as killed?

Six?

Witnesses report seeing a "long barrelled gun", yet there is no information on the background of the perpetrators. Surely if you're close enough to see details of the weapon then you would have some idea of the gunmans background?
Is it 'better' or 'worse' if it turns out that it's from a or b background?

If the EU doesn't control its own borders, staying in gave us little to no control by extension. That's the key issue.

How does your question relate to my point?

It appears that some information is being released while other information is being held back. Of course it's a chaotic situation so everything is in flux.

Perhaps they selected only certain people.

Does anyone know if this is genuine? Can't see why someone would be filming him.

Off topic but you are wrong .'migrants' have to wait many years for an EU passport & our border control check everyone. So no different in or out..

Munich Police says: no indications of islamic terror

Something (or someone) must have prompted that statement, since the gunmen are apparently still at large.

If it remains at 6 it seems a miraculously low figure.

Not necessarily. It's well known that victims confronted by criminals with guns will fixate on the gun. I think it was even mentioned in the Godfather film when Michael Corleone shot the two guys in the restaurant - "just walk out of the place calmly...they'll all be looking at the gun", or words to that effect.

We aren't part of Schengen. It makes no difference whatsoever.

Casualty count upped to 7 now

But yeah, three armed gunmen, if "we" get away with only 7 lives lost, that is a borderline miracle.

Yes but some of them will be 'sleepers' (as opposed to the ones who have already gone postal) so will wait until everyone thinks they are safe before they go nuts.

We're best off out.

Yep, very good point AJL.
Very easy to pick up on details that appear obvious from the comfort and safety of my home, the situation would be entirely different if I was caught up in the horror and chaos of the event.

Yes it does because when they get an EU passport we can't keep them out.

Well, now we'll be able to as we won't be in the EU!

Something weird is going on with Merkel. The BBC had:

Staff at the Chancellor's office met this evening to assess the situation but Chancellor Angela Merkel was not present, DPA (German Press Agency) said.
