Shots fired in Munich shopping centre?

Indeed. I haven't seen if the woman witness made this claim on TV, but if that turns out to be completely false and the gunman was neither in the McDonald's or killed anyone in there when she claims she was in there too, then she has something to answer for.
As said, they are a total odds with each other.

There was a comment about the effect of gun bans. In Germany guns are far from banned and their police are routinely armed yet it doesn't seem to have made much difference to what happened. So the comment about the effect of gun bans was bks.

Also not sure where the assault rifle comes into it? Seemed like a semi automatic pistol this time not an M4...

The point seems quite simple, having guns freely available hasn't helped end mass shootings in America, indeed the opposite seems to be the case with them happening all too frequently despite the gun lobby arguing armed citizens will be able to shoot down an attacker before he kills too many people.

How useful would armed regular police be in this case? Seems like you have 3 pretty determined people, presumably with some sort of a plan and some serious weapons. It doesn't sound like a situation where a policeman with a pistol on his belt would be much use unless he got very lucky.

I'm from Munich& I speak german and the Shooter unmistakingly says he's german and Born in Germany in the roof top video. He als said 'scheiss Türken' which means 'fkn Turks' and that he was on stationary treatment in Giesing (Munich east) where I lived before.

Maybe. Or maybe an outlet like Breitbart will tend to publish certain photos regardless of provenance.

I guess we'll see what the official reports are but that could be photos of almost anything from any time, or they could have been doing something unrelated that got them arrested.

So here's a scenario. White right winger nutter wants to cause backlash against foreigners in his country. Hatches a plan to shoot some people in mCDonalds whilst shouting Allu Akbar etc, to cause media link to IsIs to bring about German hatred to forigners etc. Shoots some kids, leaves resturant but realises has been seen, plan goes a it awry, decides to just shoot at anyone and then kills himself on car park roof. Gets his 15 minutes of fame and declares he's doing this for Germany

Lone idiot a bit like Brevik, who didn't kill forigners, killed his own that he thought were responsible for political change to the left.

Some interesting ones on there. I've got to be honest and say the people who got arrested look more like they got grabbed for arguing with police at the wrong time rather than for something else.

I'm also quite impressed by the pictures of the police wearing the t-shirt/shorts/hi-vis/balaclava tactical assault combo, must have been their night off.
