From the descriptions of the dead, he seems to have targeted young immigrants. There was some confusion over what he said; about being German and also 'bloody foreigners' too. Bizarre.
He was born in Germany (parents arrived in Germany in the 1990s) and it's widely reported that he was something of a loner who was bullied. Not beyond the realms to think he was taunted with claims that he wasn't a proper German so tried to prove it by attacking what he saw as foreigners?
Or that his life was pretty good till the swarm of migrants/refugees/illegals and he then gets lumped with them.

Also possible, but reports have claimed he'd been having counselling/treatment for several years, well before Merkel put out the welcome mat.

It's probably a combination of many factors building up over time and finally tipping him into action, rather than one in particular.

Strange reaction from our French friends - they've stepped up security checks on the Dover-Calais run, 12 hour delays.

I presume you can still enter France unhindered with your AKs and ammo on all the other routes from the other direction.

I cannot help but think this has more to do with the politics of France and brexit vs any terrorism act. Or even more likely that someone else has sorted out the holiday rotas really rather well...

The recent spate of attacks was very predictable and was predicted a while ago, I recall a speech in the European parliament by Farage. I disagree with him on many points, but I recall over a year ago when he made the speech, nodding my head in agreement.

Very sad state of affairs, but unavoidable when you look at the Asylum seeker immigration Policy adopted by the EU. I'm actually surprised that there hasn't been more attacks.

Makes me feel hopelessly sad.
So it was a two bob Anders Breivick. Did Nige predict that?

Going to and coming back from Le Mans Classic this year was "interesting" too

8 lanes to the French border checkpoints/cabins just two were manned on the way home on Monday afternoon after the racing and we sat on the autoroute approaching Calais for best part of an hour - I have a simple solution to this issue if the French want to play silly buggers - don't travel there and vote with your feet - I'm sure UK PLC could do with some home grown tourism

Good plan! Let's all go to the UK 24hr car race next year. And bugger the Alps, let's all ski in England this winter. And bulk-buy English wine (actually that's not such a bad idea).

I understand your sentiment entirely, but sadly they have things we want.

Do they actually exist ( apart from the couple that nearly sank) outside your mind?

Despite all the lone Wolfgang jokes, this does appear to be a real lone wolf, one off. There are hints at immigrants being the issue; widely reported that the killer shouted 'bloody foreigners' and declared himself as German which, in a way, he may have justifiably felt himself to be. There's also a hint of wannabe far right extremist and I'd not be surprised if, in the fullness if time, the 5th anniversary of Brevic was not found to be significant to this individual.

Whilst it seems clear we can dismiss IS and Islam, immigration is likely a factor that influenced here.

Huh?

So either the immigrants are doing the attacking and directly to blame, or they are provoking the attacks and indirectly to blame?

Wow. They really are a menace, aren't they?

You're catching on Greg.
Although it is of course the policy of mass uncontrolled immigration that is to blame rather than the individuals who are, to a man, hardworking, honest and grateful to the country of destination and bring with them many examples of their vibrant ways in order to enrich our bland and tepid culture.

Is that because he's not white? Why is immigration not an issue for white 'foreigners' born here- are they accepted as British because of their skin colour. NigelFarage is French immigrant descendant in that case and isn't British

So it appears to be an American-style teenage misfit mass shooting, not an Islamist-style mass shooting.

Why aren't the NP&E resident hard men calling for the nuking of the US?

Er, perhaps because he wasn't American?

Only a guess though.

He's not a Saudi either but that didn't stop some dikhead from suggesting Saudi should be nuked.
