I'm after something to fulfil the requirement of a couple of camping weekends away on the bike. I've seen the Givi 40l dry bags which look good but I seem to have seen somewhere that there was one with a zip on it once rolled down for ease of use.
Anyone recommend a fairly lost cost option? I've got a tankbag and some ultra light camping gear so something in the 40-60l range would be ideal.

I have a Lomo 40l. Cheap and waterproof.
Top roll and no zip but sturdy and easy to use.

I've always found alpkit products to be brilliant. I had one of these strapped to the roof of my volvo on the way to France and back from Aberdeen in very heavy rain and it didn't leak in the slightest. Still going strong 2 years later.

I had a similar requirement and bought a B use 40l roll bag. The thing I liked was that it came with a base plate to help provide some shape/support. After one use it didn't get tested in the rain but I'm very pleased with it.

Idiot question... is there a recommended way to attach these? Bungee cords?

Kriega would fulfill everything in your brief except low cost, that being said it's great stuff.

Cargo net or Rok straps.

If you are near an Aldis might be worth popping in and having a rummage.

I bought a waterproof zip up holdall for c £25 a few months ago when they had just released it.

Month later it was down to £15. Haven't tested it in anger but it seems pretty sturdy.

I love my R30. Done around 20k in all weathers and just redone the DWP coating on it recently for the outside. The drybag is brilliant and it's the most comfortable bag on the bike by far.

I've had the Givi bag for a few years now for my Euro trips and it works really well. Just fill it up and bungy to the passenger seat.

Went to northern Spain earlier in the year and it really rained every day. Didn't let a drop of water in so it does what it says on the tin

I have the R30 (used everyday to work and back), a US30 and 2 US20's, they're awesome bits of kit and well worth the money, but not cheap.

I have the same & wouldn't bother looking any further than Kriega come replacement time.

Whilst my Kreiga stuff is good quality and built to last, the straps are not ideal in my opinion - it doesn't work at all on my Ducati without third party panniers already installed. I've never felt confident in the Kreiga provided straps alone on any bike.

Do you use the metal hooks?

Mine are solidly tied down on the backseat.

Lidl had excellent fully waterproof 50ltr duffel bags for a tenner the other week. See the bargain thread.

Yeah you need a generous rear end for the US30, the US20 however should fit on pretty much anything. They are 100% waterproof, mine saw several hundred miles of rain through Belgium and France and ended up caked in crap after 1 day, loaded them back up the next day, rinsed them off under a tap and good as new.

Should I have metal hooks? It looks like there is a bike specific kit available to attach Kriega bags to the Panigale.

The fixing kit for the Panigale only provides a fixing point for the alloy hook straps to fasten to, fix the loops in the fixing kit to the bike then hook the alloy hooks on the bag straps to them.

Make sure you pull the straps tight once you've got the bag on and they will go absolutely nowhere.

Edit: Unless you're using older pre 2012 I think it was bags as they didn't come with the much better alloy hook straps, but you can buy a set seperately.

I used the US20 and 2 x US10 for a 6000 mile trip round Europe on the 899. They rubbed a bit on the paintwork around the seat but should hopefully polish out. Dry as a bone though and I saw a few days of absolutely torrential rain.
