Pics from my dashcam,as you can see as I drove up he shut his window. Shameful behaviour.
I'm missing something, he had window open for previous car which had UK plates? jjlynn27 said:

I'm missing something, he had window open for previous car which had UK plates? First had the Guy in the booth with his head stuck out the window looking at the back of the van which had UK plates.
Second pic showed the hatch window closed.

The people (not freight )making crossings I would guess are mainly Brits ,
"Access to French terminal direction Dunkerque to Boulogne 18/07/16 - 28/07/16
Please note that the A16 access to our French terminal at Junction 42 will be temporarily closed from Monday to Friday during the above dates, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00; this is for important terminal improvements. A full diversion will be in place"

Or it could just be roadworks rather than some conspiracy? The people (not freight )making crossings I would guess are mainly Brits ,

Even our UK Highways Agency are not that stupid .
As has been said elsewhere , staycations are now under serious consideration.
Even the owner of the camping/caravan site where we are in the Dordogne thinks there is something deeper going on and despairs of his government
If it's not the French police picking on UK plated cars for speeding, or the French ATC on strike, or the baggage handlers on strike, or French hauliers on strike, or the French farmers burning sheep - it's this bks.
The next time someone suggests standing 'shoulder to shoulder' with the French.....

I've travelled by car through Dover to France and back from Calais dozens of times over the years, most summers for the last 15 or so years and once or twice a year on business, and in all that time I can't remember a single problem worth mentioning. Getting a train from Ipswich to Liverpool Street is much more of a lottery, trains are rarely on time, you often can't get a seat even in First Class, and the words 'rail replacement service' are enough to bring you out in a cold sweat.

Likewise my experience but what has that got to do with the current situation?Cobnapint said:

Reading some of the posts above would lead you to conclude that getting to, and driving in, France was a regular nightmare for UK drivers, I'm just pointing out that that hasn't been my experience, other than a few traffic jams I've had no problems whatsoever, not even a speeding ticket (despite making good progress whenever possible). There might be a temporary problem at Dover, but it's likely to be very temporary and not the grand anti-British conspiracy people suspect.Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
