'poles flip' implies a sudden change, but I believe in reality it will be a long-term change and will not be consistent across the globe

IIRC, there's already been some glitches noticed when satellites go over South America, apparaently the earths' magnetic field is noticably depressed there

could be interesting for future self-guided vehicles/aircraft

considering it's already happened many times before, 'World will END' headline is probably a bit optimistic laugh

I checked the article and the ad overlaid over the video was saying "Never worry about money again". Well I suppose that's the upside...

No

Your computer will still run fine on Windows 7/8/8.1
You will just have to pay to upgrade it to 10

The poles flipping from south to north and vice versa has long been postulated as a possible cataclysmic event.

"The end of the world and the 2nd coming of Christ."

Won't be much around for him then, what with everything turned to rubble and the end of the world. No one around to prove it or to sycophantically fawn over him.

I think the idea is that Jesus turns up, has a quick butchers and says to what's left of his followers ok chaps it's off to the heavenly boozer and the first round is on me. Or something like that.

Maybe we'll have the second coming of Christ first. His balls must be so full the tsunami would be globally devastating.

Right, tinfoil hats on (literally?).

A very good friend of mine who worked at Honeywell Industrial was telling me how Chinese companies have been buying up very old GE Large Transformers from the 50's and 60's and refurbishing them.
Apparently these old war dogs are virtually indestructible and so the Chinese want to hold them in reserve in case of Solar Flare issues, but perhaps it's a precaution for this kind of thing too.
I filed the information under 'never needed/whacko' but I may just ask my buddy to elaborate on the details.
