Quite embarrassing.
A concept with which you appear to be extremely familiar.

I'm glad you see the funny side & are amused by this. Clearly the elephant in the room doesn't see it this way, & thus multiple posts are deleted.......
LOL, of course it's bloody funny. (Presumably) grown men getting their knickers in a twist about deleted topic, which was daft to start with. Their house, their rules. How difficult is that to comprehend. If you really feel that someone overstepped their remit, send mail to whoever@haymarket. Whining about it is just embarrassing.

In the case of that particular thread I'm going to have to agree with you (shock, horror). Unless something truely offensive was posted just before it was deleted then I'm struggling to work out what was so awful. By the standards of some of the 'Muslims are gonna kill us all dead' threads, it seemed quite tame.
I thought it was pretty tame in the big scheme of things too mate.....

This is truly weird......
Presumably this is because I don't run my life according to a book? Or am I missing something....

That was me opening a thread from my phone while on a late train out of London hence the miss spelling it was auto correct and being bounced around I couldn't really see what the phone had put in.

I posted with the intention of a debate about people being so quick to find offence, in this case about a company so frightened that it may cause offence that it pulls a two year old episode of a children's cartoon.

We seem to have reached a point where some people are just offended about utter trivia and get really quite violent about it, in some cases killing tens of people. Wouldn't the world be a better place and significantly less buggered up if people either just laughed or ignored.

Unfortunately due to pressure of work and life in general by the time I got back to look at the thread it had gone tits up and been deleted.

Maybe people should start with people being more tolerant of spelling and accept that people may be posting from a small device with a smaller screen:-)

jjlynne has form - cannot understand why he is on a motoring forum. What is his agenda apart from lending support to the other easily offendeds and causing angst by arguing for the sake of. Mods, please note.

Twiggy to the rescue of Jjlynn - quelle surprise. Easy to work out who will be next smile

Twiggy, you had the audacity to ask about my past (and had your posts deleted) but you never asked about Jjlynn, trabi, 768, snorky and a few others (CTF) who seem to sing from the same hymn sheet - much irony, so much hypocrisy, shame on you. People like you poison perfectly good threads for in concert you have one objective - to shut down debate.

I do hope Mods will keep an eye on the cell you guys seem to have created on PHs - fair debate rather than shut down debate by swooping in as a group and bullying.

You can have the last word, good night smile

I think the whole immigration and religion subject is one where debate is pointless. Beliefs are so polarised and entrenched that it is exceptionally unlikely that any one of us will change our beliefs.
The industry in which I work has seen huge benefits from immigration, arguably some parts would have shut down without it.
I happily work with people from several different geographical locations and cultures, happily.
A worker we had taken on a 3 month temp to perm posted some worrying things on a social media site, the posts were reported to his workplace by several co workers who were of the same religion as him.
HR were not aware of this but decided against taking him on due to poor timekeeping, it was heartening however to see a bit of 'not in my name' in a real life context.

If it walks like a tt, talks like a tt then in my experience it is probably a tt, and given your genius at mistaking peoples direction this is not a post supporting your twisted position.

It's posts like this which cause threads to be locked/deleted. And then the usual suspects will moan about threads being locked/deleted, PC gone mad, "sensitive souls being offended" etc etc.....

Given the amount of hatred on here I'm surprised Haymarket and the mods haven't perma-locked NP&E tbh.

If that offended you then I genuinely apologise, considering your opinions on religious matters differ from mine so often I have never been moved to make a personal comment towards you.
I find your different perspective appealing during many discussions and welcome.
I'm afraid I was slightly immature in the previous comment but was unable to resist the amusing image I had of a certain poster wking furiously whilst repeatedly clicking report.
Again apologies if others were offended.
