The Amazon drone looks like a fair piece of kit, How difficult would it be to order a small item, to be delivered by one, and then just grab, keep, and modify the drone for personal use. (After first having contacted Amazon complaining that the item you ordered didn't ever turn up of course! naughty me!

Because they will have a multi-angle video of the drone flying to your house with you grabbing the drone out of the air uploaded to their server.

Or it could just be someone in a hoodie, or balaclava nipping into a garden to grab the drone and its cargo they have just seen come down. No way of proving who got it in the end.

In the states deliveries are often left in an unlocked mailbox or left on the doorstep.

just don't think it will actually be an issue. The perception of crime is much worse than the reality, and I live in a really really st area.

If you wanted to fix this, then have the drone fly to straight overhead, then straight down into a safe area, or deliver to a platform outside a window, or have it hover until electronically signed for as it will likely be delivering within a few hours.

Some scrotes are going to see them as effectively cheaper than clay pigeons for target practice.
