Fool thought he should keep his job !......The most prolific regular drink driver I ever came across was a rural Bobby near me in Skipton, this fool thought he should keep his job.

Used to be quite common for cops to spend 12 months in custody suite or on front desk..

In the past it wouldn't necessarily have resulted in dismissal (chances are there are some serving officers who started in the 1980s and 1990 with drink-driving convictions). However, for sometime it has resulted in dismissal.

Drink drivers (ie those well over the limit) deserve all they get with zero sympathy.

Getting rid of people like him might send a message that DD is unacceptable and there are no exceptions to this.

What an idiot. How could he expect to keep his job?!

Maybe he should move into TV presenting now.

He could start on a 'Police, Camera, Action!' type programme and then move into national news, you know, like Alastair fking Stewart. Or have you got to be convicted of drink-driving twice before you can present national news?

I find the poluce in general rate drink driving to be very small fry in their day's shift.
I rang the police (a mile and a half away from me) a total of 30 plus times on one of the worst drink drivers i've ever seen, not 'once' did they cone out, they simply could not give a toss frankly.
This guy was 'crawling' on his hands and knees to the car,and most times would go all the way along the road without even changing gear!
From this experience i vowed never to call the police about anything ever again, complete waste of time trying to do the right thing in this country.

Oh yeah, I'm a massive fan!

It amazes me that ITV thought that it was appropriate for him to keep his job after getting caught the first time, never mind that he then landed a cushy job as a news presenter after being caught the second time.

I agree, the smug tt also makes me sick.
