A better question is how did he manage to get a vote if he is non-EU/non-UK?
My student visa story was over 10 years ago.

Do the maths and please note that a lot can happen in 10 years.

Indeed, donmt worry about the implied slight from s2art, he can't help it. Please indulge me, why brexit as a non-EU migrant to the UK?

Can't help but feel that if they'd been caught racially profiling job applicants to sniff out illegal immigrants as you suggest, you and the Twitterati would have been condemning them for that too.
If only there was a bit more profiling at the airport security queue to get your belt x-rayed....

Indeed! Carry on with your interrogation Herr ///ajd.

'Genuine interest' seems to be a new buzz word.

Don't tell him Pike! He can't fathom how you voted Brexit. LOL!

And in other non Brexit news, fuel prices are again falling. GREAT!

You may notice some here are obsessed with secrecy.

I'm not sure why.

Anyway, if you don't want to say, don't.

Thanks for the other replies. I am genuinely interested in how the milkround deals with migrants but I can see it was a long time ago for you now. My own view is we need to make it easy for graduates to stay no matter where they have migrated from. I don't have a real issue with any immigration to be frank.

And what made you want to vote brexit?
None of my reasons would be considered valid. And probably not even related to Brexit.

But basically, I've had enough of terrorists, lazy chavs benefits seekers, mass and uncontrolled immigration, soft punishment for criminals, why pay 5p for plastic bags now when there planes and other massive factories creating much more pollution, congestion charge, potholes, thieving car insurance companies with their statistics actuarial crap to justify a rise in premium, political correctness, stupid censorship which leads to stupid adverts like "we buy any car" or that stupid retarded advert moneysupermarket, thieving bankers earning over £100k bonuses and then the government has to bail them out, the attitude of the remain camp who kept saying "all the educated and senior people are backing the remain camp" so you should "follow them" type of argument.

In which case it is not a non sequitur, regardlss of what you think to what's implied.
Do please elaborate. I'm all ears.
You're joking, aren't you? Maybe not.
OK, I'll bite.
"Non sequitur"; Latin, meaning "it does not follow". Collins dikko says:
"a statement having little or no relevance to what preceded it"

You implied that only the terminally stupid would read SW. My reply, quoting yours, implied that this was by no means reserved to the SW and that some terminally stupid people would read the DM. The subject at hand is the reading matter of the terminally stupid. You raised it, I replied. It's the same subject. Regardless of whether you agree with my assessment of the terminally stupid and my implications re DM readers, it's anything but a non sequitur. Just because you don't agree it doesn't make the statement a NS.

Now please tell me that you knew this all along and that you were just yanking my chain to get me to waste my time typing this. If not, don't take my word for it, have a read in the dikko.

Nothing secret, I just though I'd recognise your username on e90post and can't remember if we've had arguments before or not.

Anyway...moving on.

Haven't been there for a while.

Don't remember many arguments - it was usually car (fixing) related.

I did enjoy winding up the shills from Big Motoring World, but that was fair game and I think most did smile

The point of importance here is quite simple.

People with no right to stay in the uk gained employment with far documents to prove their right to work in the uk. Against the law.

Employer cooperated with the govt department to identify and take away those same people. Well done!

Few loud people tried to turn it around into a humanitarian issue and tried to damage the business as well. Not ok, criminal damage.

This story is still rumbling on and the bleeding heart BBC London news is giving an illegal immigrant with forged documents air time to slag off Byron. No mention that he was illegal and he shouldn't have been here to start with

You're using one of two definitions at your own link. Which is fine but I was referring to logical inference, not trying to suggest your statement came out of the blue. That's actually a fairly recent way of using the term but not what I was referring to at all.

I was claiming your conclusion didn't logically follow the premise. Whether or not you agree with me, my inference that it doesn't is what makes the non sequitur claim stick. My inference might well be wrong, of course. All using the second definition at your link, though it's not the most comprehensive.

Still no.

In the context of the preceding conversation your use of non sequitur is incorrect usage here.

The one thing this whole story has done is remind me that I went to Byron in shoreditch and it was damn tasty.

I'll definitely be visiting next time I'm in London.

Interview with one of the 'victims' here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36994955

tbh the fact they let them go home and get their belongings first shows that they have compassion.
They could have arrested him for using the false papers and NI and then deported him after serving a sentence, don't know why he expects to get a visa now as he clearly has committed an offence.
