I need a new rear for my track bike & have found TL NHS Diablo Supercorsa V2 SC2 @ ?193.90 and the 75W TL Diablo Supercorsa SP V2 @ ?141.90.

The more expensive NHS is "strictly" not for road use (Not Highway Service) but is it likely to be noticeably different on track?

I'm hardly Valentino Rossi, but don't mind spending the extra if the NHS is the much better tyre.

I'm running SC2's at the moment.

Thanks in advance.

Just bought a set myself today funny enough for Cadwell in a couple weeks

SP is road, doesnt need warmers and although very good for track upto mid fast pack pace these are a road tyre and wear quick

SC is a Track tyre NOT ROAD. It needs warmers and although you can use it on the road to get the best if you really wanted to you'd want to ride fast to keep the heat and do it on very warm days

Stick with SC. Oh and SP V2 is just an updated version of the SP. They did a BSB version too a couple years back again based on SP not SC

SP v2 is a good tyre. Unless you're a racer, don't bother with the sc.

I've recently moved to the Metz Racetec RR K3, a big step forward IMHO.

55 profile helps the bike turn quick & never felt so much confidence from a road tyre before. The SC v2 was good, but this feels better.

FWIW, I have raced & know what works for me. Might not work for everyone.

Check these guys, doing deals on the Metzeler CompK with 2 rears and a front for 285.

The SP is a good tyre, probably the best road compound track tyre I've used.

If you're used to warmers and are decently quick you'd probably do better with one of the SC compounds, although they do usually wear quicker. SC2 is the hardest and SC0 the softest. For someone doing UK trackdays through the summer you'd likely be best off with an SC2 front and an SC1 rear, although many do it the other way round as it generally lasts longer whilst sacrificing grip a bit.

Here's the info on the tyres:

Another choice would be one of the endurance/training slicks, such as Pirelli sbk pro or Metzeler Compk. They warm quickly and grip fairly well, and they'll last longer than any race compound tyre.

Do they not make a SC3 now?

I was under the impression SC3 was the SP, but I have heard SC3 mentioned here and there. Not seen one though. I think it's a misnomer, as Metzeler make the Racetec K3 which is effectively a Supercorsa SP.
