Hi all,

Well, the MOT has run out, and looking at the chassis I don't think it's going to get a new one any time soon. So I think the time has come to start the rebuild, although a little sooner than hoped.
Just been in the garage to way up the best ways to lift the body and then had a look on the Internet for info and pictures. But if anyone has a link to a good web site or has pictures of their own body lift it would be appreciated. My thoughts at the moment are, although I can lift the body now, once it is resprayed how bo I get it back on without damage. So do I lift it from inside the boot and engine bay?

Thanks in advance,

Chadders

Hi Chadders if you look at the FAQ then Technical Articles there are about 6 rebuild threads on there with pics.

Well, it looks like there is a lot of information available on rebuilds, so is it worth doing another link?

Allthough I don't think I am going to get much help with the work.

Hi mate

I don't think its advisable to spray the shell off of the chassis, I could be wrong but i have heard of some companies who know TVR's refuse to do it.

Plus it may be difficult to support the shell unless you have a frame made to rest it on or strap it to support beams in the garage if they are adequate.

Im sure others can input with pictures and tips...smile

Cheers

I think having a loyal friend just to be there is help enough...Although they will probably just get in the way and are more likely to lick you when you are trying to undo bolts underneath the car....smile
