Yes, sorry, I get that however BLM in America has been focused on incidents where black people have been killed by the police in a way that I don't think many would disagree would amount to murder in the UK. This simply wasn't the case with Duggan and therefore to compare him to, for example, the death of Eric Garner is something I find distasteful and frankly quite offensive.

There is of course a whole separate discussion regarding the lack of upward social mobility available to black people (especially young black boys) in the UK which is almost certainly a large contributory factor to people such as Duggan entering criminality - an issue I feel passionate about - however that's not the argument BLM are making here. They're basically saying "a black person was killed by the police and therefore they're all racist and it was murder".

ETA: just to clarify, my post isn't arguing with you in any way RRG, it's just airing my frustration towards the muppets who have latched onto the BLM campaign.

East midlands news has just broadcast from the evening protest in Nottingham.
There's about 20 tts standing around listening to what no doubt are crap buskers. There looked to be all of 1 or 2 black people there.
