There are lots of interesting articles about declining empathy and increasing narcissism in young people. Perhaps this is the other side of the debate.

many year ago, Pistonheads was awash with threads about ungrateful sods that had dared to end their life under the 4:20 from Padington and thus ruining an evening for an important PHer. Regularly happened, a jumper would cause some seething outrage with a bunch of others pouring in to back up the poster. Anyone trying to post that suicide is anything but selfish was simply shot down, shouted out and the cabal could continue their mutually supportive anger.

Then the financial crash happened and a PHer threw themselves under a train as their wealth had been wiped out as a result of shorting the wrong stock.

Next thing was someone being banned for suggesting the jumper was selfish for daring to jump under a train.

I'm watching Father Ted on one of the many 4 variant channels.
I am wondering if I best record them in case say next year they are subsequently banned for causing offense to some ex IRA member or something

Better not. Come the Spanish Inquisition, you'll be in deep poo poo if they rumble you've got that.

One thing I remember from when I joined PH about 10 years ago, is a thread where members boasted about how low a score they got on an on-line empathy test. They explained that empathy was for wimps and stupid people.

What if I said I was sving them for future generations to take offence at and to castigate their parents for would that cut it as an excuse ?

Of course this is not just a PH phenomena but seems to be something that is building in society in general with people now able to be prosecuted for causing offense where does it end, is the western world becoming overly sensitive or are we all pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable.
Simple really, it's the weak-kneed spineless socialists who've had the education industry in their hands since bLIAR (and before) who have been inculating our children and others that you cannot be first, you cannot compete etc and ANYONE who doesn't agree with their defeatist point of view gets SHOUTED DOWN... thus the professional complainers/offended emerge (supposedly to help others, but in reality to support their defeatist and spinelss political aims.....)

What I say to these whinging defeatists is "GROW SOME you whinging barstewards, you're NOT the people who made Britain Great!"
Sounds like a mirror of what we are having rammed down our throats by the Dem left.
Can't say I've spotted too many socialists on PH.

I think the reintroduction of the Spanish Inquisition is one of the least expected events of our time.

To some people on here it doesn't take much to fit that description.

But I regularly compete in motorsport, so there's another tedious generalisation shot down in flames wink.

One student commented: “White washing still exists, it’s been done enough in Hollywood, look at Liz Taylor in Cleopatra.”

Beyond bullst. When will this stuff stop? These right on students, white or black or whatever shade is offended, need to either go full race war and clear the air or just get over this whole rhetoric.

Whilst I appreciate the traditional view of Bond, I can't see much wrong with that suggestion!
