maybe this is the only way and the odd 12 year old boy and a few people with grudges is less of a human cost than the people killed each day by the gangs or their products.

I don't know, so I won't be too quick to judge.
Very easy words to type when you know it won't be your 12 year old boy being shot 'for the greater good'.

The president must have been in a good mood for such a restrained response.

Nevertheless he appears to know the EU well enough sonar

He seems to have a thing about rape. rolleyes

Rodrigo Duterte jokes to soldiers that they can rape women with impunity. ‘If you had raped three, I will admit it, that’s on me’ Philippines president tells soldiers on Mindanao island where he has imposed martial law

And he didn't take too kindly to Chelsea Clinton criticising him about it.

"I will tell her, when your father, the president of the United States, was screwing Lewinsky … the girl there in White House, how did you feel? Did you slam your father?”"

Another daily mail post taking points out of context.

The reason for that comment was due to the Catholic Church not liking Duturte coming to power, and the fact that Duturte has exposed them a number of times when it comes to underage shenanigans with minors and priests and the Catholic Church getting the priest out of jail.

He hasn’t said he is against god he has said that he is against the catholic version of god.

The papers have failed to convey the full context of issues.

As a point of note I’ve lived and worked in the Philippines for the last 6 years.

then you will know the catholic church in the philippines is more powerful than the government. one of the affiliated organisations has the capability to put a million people on the streets at very short notice, and have done in the past.i think it will now be a race between bongbong and the church to see who puts a bullet in him first.
i am no fan of any religion, just in case you are wondering.
