Is Aberdeen a sthole?

Have you ever been there?

Care to justify that comment?

Never been but I'm sure you could use your imagination, if it's better than your lame humour attempts.

I quite like Aberdeen. Haven't been back for a few years but it had quite a buzz. And old Aberdeen is lovely..

I live in Aberdeen, it's alright, it has its aholes and it has its less desirable areas, but having lived in several parts of the UK and New Zealand in my 28 years I have yet to find anywhere that isn't like that.

Times are a bit tough for many here with the oil slump of course, and will continue to be so for some time yet.

I lived there for 8 months; there are ste bits and those bits are awful because loons like this guy and the council in general are st at the job of planning. There are good bits but they were all built before the 1970s. Any planning authority that thinks that a city the size of Aberdeen that already has 3 shopping malls would be dramatically improved by building another shopping mall on top of the last bit of green space in the city centre needs its collective head to be given a wobble. The delay and dithering over the bypass was ridiculous and the congestion throughout the city is something to behold, how anyone actually does business there is beyond me.

Where abouts did you stay? TBH they were all for paving over Union Terrace Gardens a year or so ago but the public gave a bit of a hue and cry on the subject so they canned it, for now.

Finally building the bypass and peripheral routes though, yaaaaaay!

Wait til people realise tha the council is on the hook for £5m a year, plus uplifts, for the next 35 years, on an empty building at St Nicholas House.

The definition of a scandal.

What really saddens me is anybody so devoid of imagination that they resort to tacking 'Gate' on the end of anything with the slightest whiff of scandal.

You could almost copy and past that and replace with the name Stafford. The place is gridlocked at the best of times, absolutely murderous when (not if) the M6 is shut due to an accident, but still no Eastern by pass and, woo hoo! Yet a-fukcing-nother shopping centre (that no one will visit, certainly not in sufficient numbers, because even if you could drive into town , you cannot park.

I think most of these fktrumpets ion local authority are getting massive bungs from developers.

There are some less salubrious places like in most cities but I wouldn't describe it as a sthole.

Bradford and its ilk are stholes.

I'll leave this here, every single Aberdeen postcode gets an A rating.

How do you work that one out?
I asked the poster that described Aberdeen as a S****hole if he was just passing through,
another poster attaches a link to a post about car thieves,
to which I ask if car crime is a uniquely Aberdeen problem
Then you say its seems to be my point. would you care to elaborate your thought process that brought you to that conclusion?
