If you assume he had set rules about her having the car, and she broke those rules, then punishment is required. The punishment meted out sends a fairly clear message.

He's a control freak! He may have irreparably damaged his relationship with his daughter. Taking away toys is how you might punish a child, not an adult.

Jesus, I would imagine she is probably 17 or 18, she is going to want to meet boys, it is perfectly normal, if she has been brought up correctly then he should have nothing to worry about.

You have a daughter you have to realise that she is going to grow up and get a boyfriend, possibly even just a male friend, so you smash her car up to make a point, at what age is she allowed to frantenise with the opposite sex ?
