Only if I can include the 1m estimate too.
Sure & while you're doing that, include a line about how dishing it out invoves learning to take it too.

My GF and I were in London this weekend and decided to go to the carnival, first time we’d been. I really enjoyed myself wonder about, having a drink listening to music in the sun and people watching. I was there for about 6 hours, only saw one arrest and some police getting involved in a couple of lads that may have kicked off. However, there were a few groups of lads running about that some could take as intimidating. I don’t feel it’s any worse than any city center on a Fri/Sat night but I’ve never seen as police in my life so they must feel it’s required. They were generally turning a blind eye to minor stuff, more there to stop trouble in my view.

I was there yesterday for the afternoon and early evening and had a great time.

Heavy police presence, but I didn't really see them getting involved at all. They just played it smart and kept it under control.

All a bit of a surreal experience, with the boarded up shop fronts and everyone blazing, but I would defo go again.

Nice try.
You’ve clearly missed the point .. which is that it’s as pointless as your comparison

Except I haven't. The two are not remotely comparable & keeping that line of argument up is the kind of thing that makes this place so entertaining.

Didn't see any yesterday except a copper confiscating someone's rum at 1pm. Quite impressive if they were done for D&D at that time. Although copper also had an empty evidence bag ready so I'm not sure if that was intended for other substances.

I have to say the police that held us in a cordon seemed a little inexperienced for something of this nature. Only one of them actually explained that they were controlling access to the Tube based on train arrivals. The rest seemed unable to handle the public and came across more like teachers. I suppose they have to be quite soft these days to avoid upsetting people.

The police staffing the cordons will be often young in service or older neighbourhood cops drafted in from across London, or if it’s BTP from across the country

The main policing presence is well hidden, yet very close by in the Forward reception points

The arrest teams, level 2 PSU’s and level 1 TSG units and other specialist resources are available for immediate deployment

Outside the carnival area are numerous mobile PSU’s

Were the Police officers with huge coats on carrying guns underneath? Couldn't work out why they would be dressed like that in the heat. Also what was the difference in the colored caps, noticed white, red and majority blue.

Police Supporr Units are broken down into

1-Insp
3 -Sgt
18/21 PC depending whether bussed (18 ) or in self drive carriers ( vans ) (21 incl 3 drivers )

The three individual parts of the PSU are called serials and consist of 1 Sgt and 6 PC’s .. an Inspector will normally have control of three serials = which equal 1 PSU

With regard to big coats .. yes may well be Firearms moving between posts or Evidence gathering teams etc

Protected Riot Vans, Armoured vehicles, Firearms, medics, evidence gatherers, baton gunners etc will all be very close at hand along with LFB and LAS

Banjo .. you are comparing apples with pears

There’s as much relevance in me telling you that 150k attended the Great Yorkshire Show

There were no arrests .. no crimes

There were three policemen and the only injury was a farmer slightly hurt by his prize winning bull

" impenetrable dialogue & a massive chip on their collective shoulders" would make them quite similar, I reckon...

It's not so much peoples tolerance for the 'vulgarity' that amuses me, rather the blind eye turned to the misogyny but then the left have struggled to address cultural differences which are at odds with the standards they might hold their White-British neighbours to.

100 arrests per day vs an attendance of around 1m people per day? hardly a crime fest.
Because of course ALL offences were detected/recorded, and arrests made in all cases...

I'd imagine bobbies are told to turn a blind eye to most stuff. We've been told previously to ignore people openly smoking weed at a Carribbean festival because we didn't have the numbers to deal with it.

I'm not sure why people are comparing the total number of arrests.

I don't care if 100 people were arrested for taking pills in their tent at Creamfields or smoking weed in Notting Hill. Its completely irrelevant to my day. I do care if even a handful of people are being arrested for serious knife crimes and assaults, or worse.
