Why are people saying the car isn't taxed?

As a guess, because a celebrity self-rightious leftie cyclist is never wrong and can do no wrong???

I ride cycle lanes every day (as a pussy I avoid riding on the road as much as possible) and I've never ever found one "glass strewn". Give me off road routes over on road any day. Although I'm no strava-addicted Wiggo.

Because there's a screenshot in the Facebook comments purporting to show that the car on that reg number is untaxed.

One reason I said 'purported'. I've just checked on the DVLA (same as the FB comment) and it says untaxed.

I can't understand how you can get away with driving an untaxed vehicle in this type of area. it must be crawling with cameras.

I think you guys are a little paranoid.

There will be loads of cameras, of which a tiny minority will be ANPR.
Of those ANPR ones, they will be mostly running the congestion zone and probably a load of car parks.
Unless she passes a police car with ANPR and who has nothing better to do, she'll be fine.

Big Brother is mostly concerned with stopping people nicking stuff and terrorism not DVLA enforcement, IIRC!

Woman is a fking clown and should be off the road.

No room to get through, and anyone that rides within 3 feet of parked cars is asking for a door to be opened into them and suffering the subsequent broken ribs.

There are some fking tossers on PH.

They should find her and throw the book at her in my opinion. Someone driving an untaxed vehicle without the common sense to at least stay under the radar as best as possible is not fit to drive unless of course she was rushing to get to the Post Office before it closed which I very much doubt.
My money is on her being on Vines phone in to apologise.

I'm not saying I'd have stopped in front of Corsa bh to remonstrate with her the way Vine did, but if she'd have got out in front of me like she did to him, she'd have been on her arse and I'd have had her keys away. Only safe option, I'm afraid, when a psychotic moron has a 1 tonne weapon like that is to a) remove yourself from the danger (not really possible on a road like that), or b) remove the danger (no keys, no more 'car as weapon' situation). Slightly complicated with modern cars and 'keyless ignition' like mine has, granted.

being unable to move the car imagine if her even more irate sister pulled up behind her,the situation would have gone nuclearshoot

You'd have "put her on her arse" and she's the psychotic moron?

He was cycling rather slowly and the roads in front of him were clear, those stuck behind would of been able to drive at 20-30mph
This is the kind of unobservant bks that seems to pervade these cyclist/driver arguments.

He was cycling on a narrow street in a residential area, with parked cars on both sides.
He was approaching a queue of cars at a traffic light.

Only a complete moron would need to (try to) drive at 30mph in those circumstances. Only the hard-of-thinking would hustle their way past a bike in London - 99% of the time you'll end up sitting in a queue of traffic up the road while the cyclist slowly filters past again.

London is not the place to try and constantly drive at the speed limit. London is not the place to be in a hurry in a car.

This is all very entertaining but on balance I find Jeremy's brother far more amusing.

So much anger. So you're saying there's no point bikes letting cars passed as they will only hit a traffic jam ahead?

rolleyes

I drive in London very regularly and believe it or not it isn't gridlock out there.

Vine is a prick, why should he be any different when riding his bike?

What percentage of London's cycle deaths are caused by car drivers?

Isn't it similar to the country lane with passing places thread?
We cant see what led up to this but there were spaces he could have dropped into to let the car past if he'd wanted to. As for stopping in the middle of the road and trying to encourage her to assault him - whats that about?
On the other hand she'd really gone past boiling point.
Extremely eloquent rolleyes
Is that normal language in the city?

But do you and Rich85 know about the door zone thing? You know that drivers ir car occupants are likely to open doors on cyclists without warning?

It seems like there are some who think Vine is holding the middle of the road for fun, but he's just taking the recommended action for protection against fkwits.
