Twenty-fifth Amendment covers the scenarios of incapacity.

Trusting the West Wing... censure might be possible if she ever lied - I think that is the mechanism to rebuke a president in office?

Although that wasn't ratified until 1967, seems to have been a bit cloudy before that. And that incapacity has to be declared, was that the case with FDR?

I think like much of the US constitution, it was a grey area until an issue arose (incapacity, term limitations, etc) - typical of an evolving constitution. I think a lot of reliance was on good people doing the right thing for their country (country first, party second) in times of ambiguity.

Not sure whether this can even be taken seriously enough to be referred to as another example of Clinton's neo-McCarthyism.

I'm coming round to this 'living in a computer simulation' thing. You know how you're playing SimCity or Civilisation, and you build up a huge working metropolis, and then you get bored and start trashing it? I think we're at that stage.

House of Cards next season is going to have to do something mental to top real life this year.

It's just the death of an empire. History is littered with examples.

I suppose. It's not as if we're at Caligula levels of craziness, but if you consider that this is the supposedly most powerful nation in the world, with a population of 325 million people, and the battle for the presidency has come down to this?

Whatever the issue is - serious or otherwise I doubt if we'll actually find out what the truth is.

Its hardly a new thing is it? Many didn't know Roosevelt was in a wheelchair, very few knew that Kennedy had back issues, the MSM took John McCain apart when he was running on the basis of his health and age.

If she does (or is forced to quit the race) it seems the DNC hold a special meeting and vote on a replacement. Its never happened yet...
The media tore McCain apart because of his age, claiming he was too old and unfit to become President. In response to this, he released a comprehensive medical report. here if you wish to read.

Contrast this with the Clinton campaign. Her health is off limits. Suggesting she has health issues makes you a conspiratard.

Will she release a comprehensive medical report? Not a chance.

He did alright.
Funny you should mention that. Since HRC fainted on 9/11, the narrative immediately changed from "Hillary is fit as a butchers dog" to "FDR had polio and he was a great president" laugh

Well, I am surprised things have gotten so absurd so quickly. But, being American, it all feels like the natural result of the path we've been on for the last few decades. A reboot is coming, but it will get ugly first.

Clinton abruptly left the ceremony and appeared to stumble while she was waiting for her motorcade. Asked whether she fainted, Clinton replied: "No, I didn't. I felt dizzy and I did lose my balance for a minute. But I got in, once I could sit down, once I could cool off, once I got some water, I immediately started feeling better."

Funny that. The video clearly shows her limp feet dragging along the ground as they haul her into the van.

Is she actually capable of telling the truth? Is she actually Jim Carrey in some bizarre reverse Liar Liar?!

This is the killer thing, I thing most people will give politicians leeway for illness, errors, paying Polish "plumbers", or whatever. What really turns people against them is lying, evasiveness and treating like idiots.

Hillary must be at this limit now before even her supporters start saying WFT.
