I'll start.

I was sitting behind an early L320 Range Rover Sport the other day and it appeared (to my eyes, at least) to have aged really badly. I'm not sure exactly why this is as it looked good when it was launched and many of its contemporaries still look decent enough, but I guess it doesn't help that the current car has massively moved the game on in every area. The facelift version looks better than the early ones, but the particular low point for me was the blinged-up HST model. eek

Agree? Disagree? What else isn't growing old gracefully?

Was just thinking this yesterday about the RR actually - it really does look quite dated now!

Agree with the RR Sport - the new model shows just how bad it was.

I would say the second generation Ford Focus - the first one was cutting edge but just how bland was the follow up? The facelift slightly improved it and the latest ones not too bad.

Also most pick-ups pre 2009 or so look too boxy and dated now most went all swoopy and curvy with their designs, thinking L200, HiLux, Isuzu etc.

Because it was designed in the early 2000's, and released in 2005... so it looks old because it is

The Audi A5 and A6. They constantly fiddle with the styling so much it makes models that are just a couple of years old look really dated.

Same here with the RRS, can't believe how suddenly they are looking dated.

However, I still think the FFRR from 2002 on can look OK still.

Compare this with the RRS above, and this is 4 years older....

Does this count?

On second thoughts, probably not.

1st gen quashqai.
Now they're all scratched and scarred by years of moronic driving, with faded headlights they look ancient. Could easily be mistaken for a late 90's car.

Glad it's not just me then! Some others have picked up on some good ones, actually. The early Audi LED DRLs where you can see the individual diodes aren't looking too great nowadays. And yes, the pre-facelift first generation Nissan Qashqai looks really old too.

The New c1/108/Aygo have made the older models look like crappy 90s cast-offs and proven that cheap cars don't have to look so bargain bin.

At the weekend I was shocked how dated the first generation Cayman looks now (goes for early Boxters too)

Pick Ups post 2009 essentially became trendy steads for the style conscious with few of them retaining their working class roots, space and usefulness.
The reason pre 2009 trucks were boxy and featured right angles is because that's been the most practical and usable configuration for the past century.

I disagree.

They (2nd gen) always sucked.

I remember thinking how much better my Gen 1 focus looked than the minger that replaced it smile

And Focus C Max, OMG that was horrendous.

We did buy a post face lift one (2008), the front was much better. Side and rear still awful smile

Nice car to drive, although a bit (very) roly poly in the corners.

Looking @ a Dacia the other day, not that old but could've been from the 90's.
