Corbyn now making a speech in central London.

Delivered with the alacrity of a child in an infant school play.

He just ignored a question from a journalist about his response if May were to call a GE and complained it was harassment... No need for the parody accounts anymore

So how do we think the prospect of Brexit going to a Commons vote will play for Corbyn? I'm struggling to think of any way it goes well for him.

He has already come out for working to get the best deal for Britain because that was the result of the referendum and we should respect it (translation "The result was what I wanted but a lot of my supporters don't agree with it so I'll do the stoic thing so I keep their support"). A lot of core Labour voters will be pressuring their MPs to vote to uphold the referendum decision, while Corbyn's social media army will be looking for him to champion the cause to stop Brexit. He won't get away with another shy showing, and if he does come out for a No vote while lots of his MPs vote yes to keep their constituents happy, Labour will go into deeper crisis.

It's looking like a lose-lose for him however it plays out.

I've just been banned from this Facebook group for pointing out the "the soldier" in the sob story is Mark Ormrod, he has a job, owns his own house and is not in danger of having his benefits capped or of being evicted. I also told them how distasteful I found it that they would use his photo, make up a sob story to go with it, just to try and make a political point.

I got abuse, then my posts were removed, and then I was banned. You have to love the tolerant and truthful of the left, so much nicer people than those hate-filled Tory scum...

I suspect a lot of core Labour voters in northern/Midlands constituencies that voted for Brexit will be watching their MP closely but the pressure on them will not be by them, they probably never ever have contact with their MP, the pressure will be to block Brexit from their noisy Labour constituency membership, that's not the same thing. It will be interesting to see if Brexit has broken enough tribal (and blind) votes for Labour (whether it's Blair or Corbyn wearing the red rossette), that if a snap General Election will speed the end of Labour as a party of govt. there's an opportunity for UKIP in the North as well as the Tories in the midlands, to take advantage of Labour at odds with its voters (rather than its members) in a Brexit GE.

Indeed that's the contradiction of Labour, it's leader and membership are odds with each other but its "working class" voter, who are a lot more conservative (small 'c') than the party they keep voting for, are with the leader or members it is made more peculiar that Corbyn is really for Brexit (for decades as the old hard left viewed the EU is a corporate, big business vehicle), just for very different reasons than the UKIP and the out Tories, which is more or less a belief in the nation state (and sovereignty- judges spat aside), all that really defines Corbyn and Momentum and the "progressive" left is what they oppose, or unites them, is hating the Tories (why the token Remainer Corbyn would not join a platform with Cameron in the Remain campaign).

Of course the question is would Corbyn order his loyal MPs through the division to make the 75% needed to set an early GE in motion, to purge the Blairite wing with losses, and would the Blair wing follow him if he did, at the risk of being accused of cowardice, if he does not, or we wait 2weeks, unable to command a majority in Parliament to form a govt, after May decides to call a no confidence vote in her own govt as vehicle to set up a Brexit GE, if she can't get a simple majority with her own MPs to repeal the fixed term parliament, and get a mandate from the electorate for her course of action.

The irony is "we're leaving the EU, and we're trying to leave on the best terms we can get" is all May has said (and all any govt can say, as it's not in her gift, she can't dictate the terms of exit, access to the single market is not in her gift, but the EUs),and if that was all this latest woohah was over then I don't think anyone would complain, about the judges ruling, but that's not the obstacle the Remainer MPs are intending to put obstacles in her and the UK's negotiation way, and we all know it, they are intent on tying her hands and making sure the UK red line are set (tariff free single market access) and are known to the EU and that between them (at the price of free movement) the UK is forced (for all intents) to remain in the EU in everything but name. That appears obvious.

We need a GE and this would be the first GE where it will be a GE where our relationship with Europe will be the main, indeed the only, theme rather than a side issue, as it usually is. That's right a GE as a 2nd referendum...

Did someone mention my favourite C orbyn babe ? If anyone isn't sure what the delectable, the exquisite and the intensely sexual Dianne looks like then here she is.
Personally I think the BBC should become the ABC and I cant wait till Dianne takes charge at the new State broadcaster:

This last pic I leave to your imagination I would have preferred the picture was of a galaxy Flake bar or something similar but just look at the angle the way she grips the thing.

Ah... D'Abbott the Hutt. I bet she has a clunge like a Wookie's hairbrush.

Better than that, the DM is reporting he'll "force a spring election" if his demands aren't met.

Go on Jeremy, it can only end well for you

Whatever the terms may be, doesn't just about everyone have access to it?

Rather surprisingly it could end well for him.
A Labour / LD coalition (committed to retaining access to single market) versus perceived Conservative tyranny.
Anything is possible in these increasingly troubled times. I wouldn't count anything out..

I asked this on other thread. What exactly does 'access to single market' mean? The ability to sell to and buy from? If so every country other than North Korea has access.
Is remaining in the Single market different to having access to it?

He can't even organise his own party into some semblance of unity on even the most trivial matters, how on earth is he going to convince MPs who will have to face angry constituents to do this?

Also bearing in mind most of the Labour MPs despise him too rofl the man is an utter joke.

People mean having tariff-free access rather than having to pay duties on exports to the EU

Does Corbyn? I mean he should know better than to be so ambiguous...
