The immigration service ruled that to keep apart a 28 year old Syrian and his 14 year old wife was against their right to a family life. This also applied to a 24 year old and his pregnant 14 year old wife. Germany has also come across the same problem.

They are sanctioning sex with 14 year olds, as husband and wife will do what they do. So can they prosecute a Danish man if he has consensual sex with a 14 year old ?

Why would we - the west bend our own rules to appease Muslim immigrants ? Should a migrant have sex with a Danish child he has a whole defence laid out infront of him- it is legal in his culture / country and the government has said it is ok .

Wow !

Age of consent in Germany is 14, in Denmark it is 15.

I would have thought you would have been in favour of each country's rights to determine their own laws.

I'd be against it in the UK, but prefer minding my own p's and q's when other grown up countries are involved.

Only if the partner is a teenager as well. Otherwise it's 16.

Let's make it simple in the UK -'any grown male who thinks its ok/fine/normal/within his rights to have sex with a minor gets death by firing squad - no ifs no buts. Religion is no excuse for abuse.

I think you might be on to something. You should contact your MP so he can start a campaign.

What, even though it's perfectly legal?

Explain how you think it's legal?
Explain how you think it isn't. You cannot make an accusation of illegality without quoting a source of law.

Is the legal bit the "think" element of the statement?

OR I have missed the memo were it's ok to fk kids now?

Rallycross said that grown men who want to have sex with minors should be shot. I asked why when it is legal. Not in every case, admittedly, but it often is and has been pretty much forever.

If you state that something is illegal then you should be prepared to provide a source of law.

Yes. Show me the legislation which makes it a criminal offence to have sex with every minor. There isn't one. It's an offence to have sex with certain minors but not all.

OK. You have got me there.

Can you give me an example of where it isn't a criminal offence?

If we define adult as 18 and minor as under 16.

(It's a genuine question, I don't know of any)

Yes, "we" can define a minor as under 16 if "we" want but the legal definition is under 18. Hence, 16 and 17 year-olds are minors and the age of consent was 16 last time I checked.

Got you.

Didn't realise we were being pernickerty when dealing with a loon who wants to have people shot.

Best way to deal with them I generally find.

He didn't say it wasn't "legal", he said it wasn't"ok".

Clearly the context has escaped further discussion in the rush to be pub lawyer, as the thread was not started about 16 or 17 year olds.
