Recently had a dark blue composite front door fitted. In the mornings it's in direct sunlight and it makes creaking noises as it heats up. Is this normal for type of door. Fitted says it is. Thanks

Anything made of plastic (or with a plastic shell as with composite door) ,in particular dark colours, soak up the heat like crazy. Listen to your gutters on a sunny day as they creak against the brackets. These dark colours can be problematic especially when south facing and ,in extreme circumstances, have been known to even crack or expand so that closing can be very tight against the brush seal. Hopefully it doesn't apply in your situation and that early morning sun means that you aren't south facing so should not get too bad.

As above - painting it silver or white would help.

Yep, mine (dark grey) does it. Raised an eyebrow the first time I heard it, now tuned out smile
