The Remoaners have nothing but doom and gloom in their lives and most are desperate for this to fail so they can say I told you so, what a sad way to live.
If we're making ridiculous generalisations then a huge chunk of those who voted Brexit are elderly retired little-England types who don't have to worry about losing their jobs...
Neither of you are particularly wrong wink

One is more worrying than the other though...

If they are little Englanders who are retired then they will have worked for probably 50 years and are entitled to vote how they see fit without having insults thrown at them. They will have probably been brought up in post war Britain and will have seen more than their fare share of hardship and destruction but you keep on insulting the people who are the silent ones who just keep paying whilst others shout and moan and claim.

I know!

How dare my older relative even consider voting leave hehe

They have no right to, or even knowledge on the matter other than a few decades pre and post '73 running a business across ~20 countries from the UK to HK and advising the g'ment on trade amongst other things. the silly old fool!

If the poster I have seen for the event is real, she has made a complete knob of herself.
Presume based on half arsed advice.

I am not sure I see how ?

The poster removes the word Easter ? That's what people are objecting to.

The word Easter is clearly visable. The story in the Telegraph had the word photoshopped out.

No it doesn't. One selectively picked element of this page does, but the headline quite clearly says Easter. As does the link name https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/features/join-the...

She's copper-bottomed fool for reacting to this mendacious nonsense (as is the Church of England). It's one of the least becoming things she's done and says very little for the quality of people she has around her

The NT have amended their website

https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/features/join-the...

However looking at the page you can see the original advert with no mention of Easter on it

The promo title was "Cadbury Egg Hunt" that was what people were objecting two.

Especially as Cadbury was founded by some one with strong religious beliefs !

Is it correct that Farage has chimed in with the need to 'protect our Judeo-Christian culture'?

Or is that a falsely reported tweet?

It's correct - https://twitter.com/Nigel_Farage/status/8491866527...

"As I have said before, we must defend our Judeo-Christian culture and that means Easter."

Best response - https://twitter.com/MLewisLawyer/status/8492623851...

"Easter is not so much a part of Judeo culture. We tend to pass over that one."

Ah well I guess Brexit is all sorted, ISIS are happily hunting Cadburys eggs with Putin and Spain have stood down from their threat to invade us...

Shame, I was quite enjoying the brief era of non-trivial politics.

loathesome, Loathesome woman; she comes across more and more like some frightful, lower middle class, Daily Mail reading, WI branch president from the shires every time she opens her mouth. Even her statements after the attack on Westminster came across as shrill, hectoring and somehow partisan.

As a Christian myself I particularly despise the way in which she tries to subvert Christianity to project on herself some sort of theological authority for her actions.

I have been a Tory all my life but this ghastly woman represents nothing that I stand for

It is being suggested that part of the motive for May's criticism was that she had run-ins with Ghosh, the head of the NT, when they were both in the Home Office. May is known to allow resentment to fester.

It seems clear that eggs predated christianity. Like a lot of feast days in the christian calendar, such as easter and christmas, the new religion merely took over the existing feast days and renamed them.

May really needs to comment on things that are important. This verges on the farcical.

Theresa May takes stand against Saudi regime by not wearing headscarf - ignoring Foreign Office advice - The Telegraph

I like May, she seems like she has bigger balls than Cameron.
