Corbyn has been a disaster for this country. We need an effective opposition, and he is not that.

Well, to be fair, David has a good point. I've been the victim of xenophobia on these very pages. I was called a "plastic Paddy". It is at least 25 years since anybody has suggested that I was thick because I am Irish.

Was this insult delivered by a xenophobic, racist Leaver?

No of course not. It was delivered by a truely racist Remoaner.

Utter hypocrites.
Everywhere (and everyone) is xenophobic or racist to some degree - large or small, in the subconscious. I find it interesting when people get all up on a soapbox as though it has never influenced a decision they have made, ever.

I heard he's on a flight to one of the Democratic Republics. Why are places with those words in their name always places of great oppression wink

Are all the Kippers returning to the Tory Party going to stand for Theresa May fiddling immigration statistics? She has a track record for missing targets when home secretary so I'm surprised they are so confident with her n charge.
She won't have to fiddle them.

There will be a dramatic fall in March 2019.

She is over in Brussels tonight explaining that we are going for a hard Brexit.

Good woman.

She might end up being better for the UK than Margaret was.
If we leave (50/50) There won't be a dramatic fall, because we need workers from overseas. Also there will be a trade off to allow UK citizens to remain/locate in mainland Europe.
I suspect large numbers of agricultural workers will also be welcomed to keep that going (the poor deprived unemployed rural victims
/brexiteers don't strike me as the type to rush to fill their shoes)

Really? That's got to be overly optimistic in terms of not leaving actually being more unlikely.

It has been very quiet on the Corbyn thread recently, has he been on holiday?

A Daily Express front page without a mention of Princess Di or the coldest winter ever on the way, how did the editor let that slip by?

If you ever learn the difference between primary and secondary sources and the implications of each, you might spare yourself some embarrassment. May is the primary source, via her pre-prepared speech transcript. It's not a claim made by an Express hack in an editorial 'in the Express' it happens to be 'in a May speech'.

http://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/723132/No-g...

Whether you accept that 'May said it so it must be true!' is another matter; are you a fan of hers? Just checking, in case there's been any misunderstanding sonar

I am sure it is hilarious to you, doesn't make it less true. If someone is actually knowledgeable in their field, but that view doesn't agree with the groupthink on here among some posters then it's probably not worth your time trying to contribute to the debate given the amount of abuse they will receive. As you demonstrate.
Thing is that goes for both sides in here a lot of the time. Yes, NP&E is dominated by more right wing people so you see a lot of "group" support - but it's no different from say the Guardian forums for example (but the opposite way round). When it comes to it people will generally go where their views are supported.

I'd be much more tempted to agree to someone being knowledgable in their field if they recognised both sides - but said they believe one because of xyz. As it is JK certainly doesn't appear it from me. He appears the same as the right wing brigade - just posting stuff that supports his opinion even when the facts don't agree. For example with Boris - may think he was bad for London which is no problem, but then trying to say people think he's the worst mayor just doesn't match with the data. Given the lack of factual response by JK presumably he is not an expert - or he could have countered it?

Nothing about the McCanns either. Are we witnessing a massive sea change in reporting at the Express? laugh

Although the above responses are irrelevant to the content of May's speech, and represent a 'shoot the messenger' non-point, humour matters and it must be said that a lack of any house price trend is surprising.

The 2020 election will be like this, Corbyn and his misguided followers (red team), thinking they have May (green/blue) all sorted.

Only for the GE results to come thundering in at the end.

No momentum members were harmed in the making of this.

What is it with the Tories and losing their kids?

Still, at least it makes a change from the stories of Tories in hotel rooms WITH young boys.
