Bbc news today states that 100 unaccompanied children will arrive in the UK today from Calais to begin fasttracking for residency in the UK.
Lets see how many of those end up living with Ms Allen - afterall, a few days ago she said the only thing stopping her giving them a bed in her house was the fact they werent allowed into the country
Second guessing, zilch (she'd understand that word.)Lets see how many of those end up living with Ms Allen - afterall, a few days ago she said the only thing stopping her giving them a bed in her house was the fact they werent allowed into the country
However, from what I've heard Great Torrington in Devon (of all places in the UK)with a population of just 5000 are getting around 70 'kids' from Calais. Out of sight, out of mind (the latter being the Home Office!)
What's unusual about this, they had no advance warning of it! And now the Home Office won't confirm nor deny it. Why? WTF is going on in this country, now full of 'luvvies'? I also hear Evette Balls Cooper was shouting the odds again ...did she take in those 2 refugee 'children' she promised to? Of course bloody not!

She's probably too busy getting jealous about Ed's shenanigans on Strictly; his dance partner didn't leave to much to the imagination What seems odd is that many people from Europe and even the French themselves spend big money to go holiday, or live in the south of France, and yet it appears that many of those from the Calais camps don't want be relocated there. Wonder how many UK nationals wouldn't mind being relocated to the South of France? It is a strange old world.

I don't mind her commenting - she can have her own thoughts on the matter - but she shouldn't be speaking or appologising on my (or anybody elses) behalf. Why Gary Lineker, Lilly Allen and you shouldn't comment

Also - when she makes a statement like 'the only reason these children don't live with me is because they aren't allowed into the country' - she is bound to be called out on it when they are in fact let into the country.

I don't believe the south of France has free healthcare and benefits 'on tap'.Welshbeef said:
She can get lost and retract the apology for me thank you.
Will she do a Bon Geldoff open his house out to Syrian families making a mockery of the govt yet when it comes down to it the promise is made of lies and never seen through SHAME

Some clarification from Ms Allen here:
http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/lily-allen-calais-r...
Her apology was to one little kid who was on his own and appeared to have a legal right to be in the UK. I didn't see the original article but this seems a reasonable explanation.
I think the pile-on mentality cultivated through social media and forums, then reinforced by the media is a bigger problem than famous people commenting on things that are undeniably important.
Whether they're well informed or not is another matter, but that doesn't stop people posting here, which is basically the same thing.

So, in essence she complains about generalisations but then says: http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/lily-allen-calais-r...

Heartbreakingly, Shamsher told me he had a better chance of getting into the UK on the back of a lorry than waiting for the government to let him in. "I apologise on behalf of my country," I said. "I'm sorry for what we put you through."
I suppose I could have said, "I feel guilty about the part that my country has played in your situation," or, "We just had a vote, and 52 percent of people voted to leave to the European Union because of immigration, and I really can't speak for them, but let me apologise on behalf of the other 48 percent who, I think, roughly feel the same as me." But I was speaking to him through an interpreter in a tiny room with a camera crew. I was trying to get a point across in as few words as possible; there wasn't much time for clarifications.

A proper role model for kids, too, particularly Muslim ones.

Lily Allen is a major talent one of the greatest musicians from Britain ever. I have also seen her minge and it needs protecting. If she adopts some of these kids it will save her minge from any more stretch wetchy stuff in having more children.
On that basis I have just communicated with Ms Allen. I await her reply.

Yep. She's not a particularly good commentator but it explains the original point in more detail. I'm not defending her necessarily, only her right to speak.Because the problem is, you can be sure there are famous people who are extremely smart, can speak well, inform and influence but don't bother because they can't be arsed dealing with the ridiculous internet outrage and media pitchforks that inevitably follow.

OMG! A young woman drank too much at a party! A proper role model for kids, too, particularly Muslim ones.
This has never happened before in Britain, so it's a good job you added it into the debate.
Who says she has to be a role model?

Who says she has to be a role model?
Well she appears to! Pontificating about how the UK should behave. Plus, of course, she is a mother of two young kids. That's why she HAS TO be a role model, that's what mums' should be, you know. This has never happened before in Britain, so it's a good job you added it into the debate.
Who says she has to be a role model?
So this entitled 31 year old mother of two gets so stfaced in the street, she is carted off paralytic over some minder's shoulder! I am sure the Asylum seekers all admire and love such women. When she cannot behave herself with any more class, I for one say "do one" when she apologises on behalf of my country.
I'm glad to say whilst I know plenty of people both male and female who like a drink and a night out, I don't know anyone male or female who has ever been in such as state as that.
But maybe I keep better company than the likes of Allen?
Perhaps if she behaved a bit more like a normnal functioning member of society, people would have a bit more time for her?
Drugs? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-12129...
Oh, she's a proper delight, I am sure the asylum seekers love her crusading for them.
Of course, maybe I am looking at this all wrong? Maybe she has an affinity with law breakers who do exactly as they wish and ignore laws and rules, just to get their own way and further their own endeavours? :scratchin:
