I once slowed-down The Smurf Song from 45rpm to 33rpm and it just sounded like a bunch of blokes singing.

I came across this Justin Bieber tune a while ago that had been slowed down by a significant factor; it becomes a hauntingly relaxing tune with some Vangelis sounds to it: https://youtu.be/QspuCt1FM9M

On the other hand, when Lindemann's "Skills in Pills" album was leaked it was uploaded to Youtube with the tempos increased, presumably to beat the copyright detection measures. The song "Yukon" from that album is much better with a bit more pace to it, I thought, really drives it along.
