BSR, you seem to be deliberately missing the real point in all this. After all the scandals our government has presided over and been a major part of, lying through their teeth, covering up one disgrace or another or just plain incompetent, the stupid attempt at passing these adults off as children in such a contentious climate is much to close to haughty cynicism to be allowed to pass. Your high-horse virtue signalling is wasted. The resentment is not directed at the immigrants, it's the sheer contempt shown by the government.
A point I made earlier in a response to a post made by BSR castigating me for posting a picture of a 'child'.

It didn't surprise me that it was ignored.
I didn't ignore it for any other reason than I don't agree it is 'the real point'. Honestly, I don't give a toss. I also don't automatically believe that the picture the mail posted of the 50 year old man is one of the 'children'. Even if he is, which I strongly doubt, I still don't give a flying fk. It is one single person. It is so few people and so trivial in the grand scheme of the problem that I think the real point is how hysterical we are all getting over anything 'immigration'. In fact it genuinely terrifies me that the tabloids have brainwashed half our country so much that they can print almost anything they want about a foreigner, regardless of whether it has any basis in truth, and half our country is instantly furious at all foreigners.
BSR doesn't give a toss, BSR doesn't give a toss that the people of the UK are being hoodwinked into allowing grown men into the country at the expense of genuine children in genuine need.

BSR doesn't give a toss, that's OK then.

If BSR doesn't give a toss, why does BSR give an opinion on something he doesn't give a toss about!

rofl Syria/Democracy? Are you out of your mind? THe reason they don't want to fight for Assad could not have LESS to do with Democracy. It is because he is a tyrant who is also killing them left right and centre. The average Syrian is being attacked on all sides by people who are all bad. It's not Star Wars. There aren't goodies and baddies and these people are cowards who just don't want to fight, as you try and make out. But you must know that. You aren't that stupid. So it begs the question as to your motivation for posts like that

Simply because I like PH, and I hate that people like you have free reign to say whatever you want without challenge. Its a horrible advert for PH and our country.

But not before he stayed at my local curry house: http://www.shimlapalace.com/#/our-history/45451755...

You hate the fact that I'm in favour of bringing in genuine, deserving and unaccompanied children into the UK at the expense of grown men, whilst you support the opposite.

You think you're a good advert for PH and our country?

Thank God that Oliver Cromwell didn't have that attitude and was prepared to lay his life down for democracy.

Ridiculous, childish attempt at twisting an argument.
Of course I didn't say I would prefer grown men to children and if you really read that into what I have typed then your inability to understand basic English renders it pointless debating this issue.

Which is exactly the kind of reasoned debate I expect from people who get their facts from tabloids.

It seems the arguments have been made and have now reached stalemate with a lessening chance of progress. Any chance the mods might close it?

Ok, question for those saying we should take these children in with open arms, will you be putting your names down to house them? Will you be volunteering to help them at school? Or is this the job of others? Just curious as I've had this conversation with others and they are for them coming but turn white and said they didn't have the space/skills/money etc to do it
We're "full up" and have a housing problem already so why more foreigners? We need to look after our own first, right?

Would you house a white British born and bred family who've never worked and live solely on benefits? For full disclosure they have a large black labrador that's technically house trained but to be frank I don't hold out much hope for your sofa or stair carpet. Also, the dad vapes.

Neither. Look after our own first, but only those that have contributed to society.

I'm a bit of a Liberal, and keen to ensure the UK helps those in need, but that chap must be 30+ years old.
BBC1 lunchtime news just said it was reported that this chap is an interpreter?
According to Guido he is no interpreter...

Yesterday a rumour went round Twitter virtue signallers that a man the Sun reported is a supposed child refugee is in fact a Home Office interpreter. It was too good for the tabloid-bashers to resist, soon hundreds of people had tweeted it without checking, as if it was fact. Including some very famous types like Gary Lineker, David Schneider and Caroline Criado Perez.

Guido has asked the Home Office, who confirm the man in question is NOT an interpreter. They say they do not comment on minors, all but confirming he is a refugee claiming to be a child. As reported by the Sun. A lie will go halfway round the world while truth is pulling its boots on – will the Twitterati above be issuing corrections?

See that's the answer I've had from most folk who have been screaming the poor children need our help. I believe that charity starts at home, also we must stop the downward spiral of benefits blagging. We do need to help these humans, it's part of what we started with Iraq and Afghanistan, which I've been involved in and seen the dregs of human brutality. The uk has plenty of children needing safe homes, but not enough brace people to take them on, I did it for a few years, it was hard and emotional. I'm not saying let them all in, that's dangerous and will be dumb. Why don't we go into the jungle and rip it down? Rebuild it? Make it safe? It could work, make them realise they can't come any further
