So those tweets and news articles he mentioned in the video are fabricated then?

That video is rubbish. The sensationalist bit about children in their 30's and face recognition technology? The "technology" was a phone app that's about as accurate at face recognition as Stevie Wonder and photos have also been proven to be questionable at best. Apart from that it's the video equivalent of the PH favourite phrase "how many will be staying at your house".
So you have no problem with millionaire celebrities, with 100s of spare bedrooms between them, telling us that we should all do more whilst doing nothing themselves?
I don't listen to celebrities and I certainly don't know what they do, or don't do, in relation to refugees. Even if I did want to know, why would I listen to someone who's more motivated by his own right wing agenda than the truth?

What I can do though, is differentiate between Muslims and Extremists. They are simply not one and the same thing. Another thing I can do, is agree that immigration needs to be controlled. It's a fact that immigrants make a large contribution to our society (and have done for many years) and that immigrant does not mean benefits claimant / radicalised / rapist etc. We grow our own!

Unfortunately our media, government etc have done nothing to distinguish Muslim from terrorist. Even the fact that more Muslims are killed, as a result of terrorism, than any other religion is either unknown or ignored by most. Why is that? Why don't we do more to distinguish between radical terrorist and your average Muslim?

In case that this was addressed to me;

Did you actually think that I'd spend time watching the video of a confirmed nutjob conspiracy theorist?

I also don't watch videos of flat earthers to see if there is any 'truth' in them; they just get lumped with every other nutjob video around.

Here, have some of;

So you're able to say everything in a video is wrong without having watched it? Well to save you the trouble, the key points were:

- several celebrities have said we should take in more refugee children, some have directly said they will house them
- to date, none of them have done so
- they have a net worth of tens of millions, multiple properties with dozens of spare bedrooms
- they live in gated mansions in areas that are overwhelmingly white

which of those is a tinfoil hat claim?

Is there any legal mechanism by which refugees can be placed with private individuals, or must they be housed by the approved contractors?

No, you are making things up. What I said is that video made by conspiracy theory nutjobs are not worth watching.

The whole 'how many children are you personally going to house' is a question posed by idiots. Every single person that poses that question is an idiot. Without exception. There are places and procedures in place to deal with this.

Does the 'video' cover if the people who offered to take in refugees are actually allowed to do this or not?

These 'videos' and 'stories' are designed to enrage low brow simpletons, and hopefully drive traffic to the website where they'll be offered 'Patriot Coffee' and body armor, just in case, ya know.

Really? How?

Not being funny but extremists have been known to be intelligent human beings albeit with an agenda that we don't know about until it's too late.

But we were discussing immigrants. It's very easy for the rich to spout off when they're so far from the realities of trying to buy a first home or on a council waiting list.

'Do as I say, not as I do'.

So in other words unless we blindly accept what these luvvie say we are all paid up members of the KKK.
Put another way it is perfectly reasonable to question these peoples motives and as others have pointed out they seem to live a life of privilege in areas that will not be affected directly.

So you're just going to refuse to watch anything you might disagree with and insult everyone who has a different opinion than you. Brilliant.

You are making things up, again. Why do you do this?

I watch many things that I disagree with. For example; Trump's press conferences. I have no interest in watching anything from inforwars, as the comedy value is not enough to justify the time spent, unlike your posts, for now.

First sentence, no, that is not what I said.

Second sentence, yes I completely agree, but don't do it through the medium of bigoted, known racist, Islamophobic, misogynistic nutters like Paul Joseph Watson. Have a reasoned debate, put forward your opinion, we all discuss it and move on. Don't come barrelling in with racist propaganda then cry when people brand you racist (i)not you in particular(/i).

This is pre-secondary school stuff that the vast majority of NP&E posters fail to grasp. It is devastating that they are on the whole, fairly well off and in high enough positions to employ people. Shocking.

So we treat all Muslims as Extremists/Terrorists "just in case"? Is that going to work both ways? Are all white, British folk to be treated as paid up members of the Anti Islam Alliance?

As for "the rich" or celebrities and their opinions, so what? Who cares if Lilly Allen wants to shout her opinions via ttter or whatever? You might not agree with her but It's called "freedom of speech" and it's one of those things that comes with the freedom afforded by living here. Freedom of speech means there is stuff we might not like or agree with, but we need to accept their right to say it.

How do we know what these people have or haven't done though anyway? I hear lots of rumour, lots of suspicion, but facts? Not so much.

You previously seem to agree that there should be some checks in place; to differentiate between radical Islamic terrorists, and honest refugees/ordinary Muslims.
That basic step has always been the case in any immigration policy of any country. It appears only in the last few years that a concerted effort has been made to convince us that it is racist to do so.

The reason people care about what celebrities say, when they disagree, is because those people have a much higher influence over other people's thinking and opinions that the likes of you and I (pardon me if I make the assumption that you are just such another member of the generally voiceless public as myself).

Lilly Allen et al have chosen to put their opinions into the public space, quite vociferously I might add, and as such it is only reasonable for the public to be able to comment or criticise.
That is free speech in action, unless I have misunderstood the concept completely.

If people should feel that these celebrities are claiming virtues they do not possess, then I think criticising that is reasonable also.
If they do not wish public criticism, then they shouldn't comment publicly, and they certainly shouldn't make statements they aren't prepared to live up to, at least not publicly.
ETA: If they are not claiming those virtues, they should openly correct themselves, and all would likely go quiet.

Any one of the celebrities named in that video (assuming reasonable accuracy in the statements of worth) could well afford to build a small apartment block on one of their estates and populate it with refugees.

They're saying "we should do this". The response is basically "if you think so then you go first". Simple.

Aah, that old chestnut, 'freedom of speech'.

Rather like those Charlie Hebdo idiots who thought it was so right on and liberal to publish cartoons about the Prophet Muhammed.

Just because you can say something, doesn't mean you should..........
